DH One thing and one thing only!

DS2 aged 4 had a joint party on Sunday, DH had one job to do which was video it for Grandma and Grandpa who could not come due to ill health.

I have just watched it, he stood in one spot the whole time and it's mainly the back of other parents heads, hardly any of the kids. It's shit.

I know it's not a Hollywood blockbuster and he's no Ridley Scott, but I am so livid with his totally crap effort. Even when they are singing Happy Bday to DS there is a parent in the way!

He is so feeble sometimes, he's a big bloke, but so wet and weak. And I have just let rip at him. I have done a lot for him lately with his new businees, keeping house and my own work going. I feel pissed off, furious and let down.

One thing he had to do one fucking thing!

Purge over.

Deep breaths... shall I rub your back?

MarineIguana · 09/02/2010 10:46

Oh how annoying - know this feeling.

I'm sure he thought that he had done what you asked - if you didn't say "move around, get different shots and don't get people's heads in the way" maybe he'd have done that

Sounds like you might be annoyed at him in general/about other stuff?

JjandtheBeanlovesUnicorns · 09/02/2010 10:47

YANBU!

i would feel exactly the same, but go easy on him, i also have a tall wimpy bloke and theyre fragile creatures!

carocaro · 09/02/2010 10:53

Thanks for the back rub.

You are right oh wise MN's, I am pissed off with him about other things, he was made redundant a few months ago and it's a stress.

I just can't be the one in charge all the time, motivating the team, galvanising him into action, cheering him on.

He seems to wanta bucket load of praise and a lot of whooping and a hollering when he puts some clothes away.

DS1 is 7 and DS2 is 3, it's all very exhausting/teeth pulling/egg shell walking/brave facing at present.

Going out to breathe now.

Thanks

Poor you. You have every right to want to smack him sideways.

But if you did you would be in the wrong - political correctness gone mad innit.

So deep breaths and just make sure DGPs know exactly who is to blame for the rubbish video.

Sassybeast · 09/02/2010 11:00

YANBU to be pissed off - DH did a similar thing at DDs first nativity because the 'lighting' wasn't right

MarineIguana · 09/02/2010 11:08

Whereas my DP would be thrilled with his task and would spend the entire party-preparation time rootling in boxes for his ponciest camera equipment instead of helping out with fairy cakes, followed by spending the entire clearing-up time on a sophisticated laptop-based post-production effort, and would then expect an oscar for his masterpiece.

You can't win

Bumperlicious · 09/02/2010 11:29

My DP would do the same as Marine's

JjandtheBeanlovesUnicorns · 10/02/2010 00:18

carocaro, we have alot more in common than bad videoers lol!

My dp is also redundant and i always end up running the show and him driving me crazy not sharing the load, he would if i spelled it out! but hes a bit fragile after loosing his job! my dcs are 2 and 1, hectic life, but all fun and games hey!!!

LifeOfKate · 10/02/2010 11:55

Lol at Marine, mine would be exactly the same
