Remind me in the morning!?

Why oh why do I always have to remind Dh to do things!

Every time he wants/needs something, I get "remind me in the morning"!!

Why do I always have to be the one to remember! What if I forget? Is it then my fault!?

Every night I have to check he has turned on his alarm clock for work, I have to go round and check all doors are locked! I have to check the cooker is turned off after he has cooked! I don't want to do these things, I did not have to do these things, but he would kill us all otherwise! I popped to the shop a few days ago, and while I was gone, he did DS lunch, I came home and the house smelt awful. He had closed the grill, not turned it off, then not realised for 20 minutes! Smoke everywhere!
A few years ago, when I was working on a night shift, I came home in the morning, turned the corner into our street, our house about 10 doors down, and I could smell, very strongly, someone cooking with a chip pan or something! Get into my house, and it is awful, very strong. He had done himself chips the night before in the deep fat fryer, then left it plugged in, all night, about 12 hours! I never used it, and dh only used it when i was on night shifts, so we just got rid of it in the end!

AIBU to be getting very weary of always having to be the one to remember things! How he can retain a lot of useless facts that are only any use for a pub quiz, but forget to lock doors or turn off grills is beyond me!

I do wonder sometimes if I am enabling him by reminding him and checking, so he is used to it, but I only started it because I had to. He has the cheek to accuse me of OCD tendencies though, as I go around checking everything!

YANBU

My DH does this too.

Remind me of that in the morning / later - whatever.

It really annoys me.

Feels like it is still my problem / job.

Aassghhhh!

Leaving on the grill and fryer are really worrying, TBH. DH and I did that once when we were young and pissed, and scared ourselves silly.
