To request a particular nurse is not present during a vasectomy exam ??

My DH has decided to have a vasectomy after the birth of our second child in March.

He is a fab person - considerate, reasonable and very level headed - rarely does anything upset or anger him so much that he finds himself unsure of what to do.

However when he went for the initial consultation with the doctor who is female he returned and voiced his concern not about the female doctor but at the nurse who was in attendance and from whom he got the impression was gay.

At this point I should point out he is neither homophobic nor prejudiced in any way - but his concern stems from the flirtatious nature that this male nurse spoke to him and examined him.

Therefore the question is more one of is HBU to request a different nurse when he goes to have the procedure done and would he offend anyone or be in breach of any etiquete in doing so ?

he is entitled to request a different nurse if he wants to

i think he's overreacting though!!!

i bet the nurse was joking around and trying to put your DH at ease - lets face it, its a bit stressful having your bollocks sliced Could it be that the nurse mis read the situation and thought your DH would be up (sorry) for some light hearted banter and got it wrong?

I cannot even imagine a raging homo sexual finding vasectomy procedures arousing in any way.

However, saying that - if your DH was uncomfortable then he is well within his rights to ask for another nurse.
