for ever and ever!??
So snuggly and affectionate and lovely. He's not going to want to do it forever.
Just overwhelmed with love for him.
He's only 2 and just gone into big bed!

YANBU- DS (10) and I have snuggled under the throw this afternoon.
He comes in our bed every morning at 6.45 to watch the news. I asked him when he would stop "when I'm 27"
God I hope he's left home by then....a strapping 6 foot man in bed with his 67 year old mother is not a nice thought!

EmilyStrange · 21/12/2009 21:46

Really herbietea? I really hope so. I worry about when my ds's get older that this lovely affectionate closeness will go. The men in my family and my dh's are so cold it is all we have known.

Op. there is nothing more delicious than cuddling up to my dcs when it is cold outside and having a little nap together in a heap.

RhinestoneCowgirl · 21/12/2009 21:48

DS and I had a snuggle this afternoon while the baby was asleep. I was lying down on the sofa and he gravely informed me that he needed to snuggle with me. He is 3.5 yrs.

lolapoppins · 21/12/2009 21:49

LOl deaddei, that would be strange!

My ds is 7, in and out of our bed, and always comes in in the mornings.

We were all laying in bed the other morning when he piped up "you know, when I get married you'll have to get a bigger bed, I really don't think my wife will fit in here with us, and all our kids definatly won't".

skinsl · 21/12/2009 21:51

Arrhh, this is nice.
lovely stories

My boy has always been snuggly, unlike his prickly sister who has been known to get up, eat breakfast, get dressed and leave for school without so much as a "morning".
(but we love her too )

EmilyStrange · 21/12/2009 21:53

Oh wow lolapoppins, I can just picture my ever so English MIL and FIL if my dh and I crawled into their bed for a cuddle. Brilliant!

Rollmops · 21/12/2009 22:00

Aawww..... Shweet
Our DTs who just turned 2 pat-pat-pat into our bedroom every morning, time for cuddles
Called them my little cuddlebugs and got a stern reply, 'no cuddlebugs, Mummy, bats eat bugs'....

ByThePowerOfGreyskull · 21/12/2009 22:02

YANBU at all.. DS2 has always been very snuggly, he doesn't yet feel separate from me.
DS1 has just recently started doing this and I love it, the last week or so he has come into bed for half an hour for a cuddle and he says thanks for his cuddle when he has had enough.. it makes me sooooooo warm inside.

My 9 year old ds still loves his cuddles too!

Boys2mam · 21/12/2009 22:15

I'm keeping my boys forever.

DS1(5) loves his cuddles, DS2 (15 months) not so much.

CaptainUnderpants · 21/12/2009 22:25

My 9 yr old Ds likes cuddles BUT will not give me a kiss outside the playground when going into school !

nannynobnobs · 21/12/2009 22:26

OOoohhh my DD2 is 3 and we have lots and lots of cuddles, she is just the perfect size and weight for a good big squeeze
DD1 is normally upstairs playing an elaborate game involving lining up lots of little toys! We used to cuddle a lot more

mistletoemulledwinemoodlum · 21/12/2009 22:31

Ooh i love the fact that I might keep a snuggly boy for a long time. DD is gorgeous, but DS is just yum scrum pure cuddles and mainly only for me

Someone asked him yesterday what he wanted to be, and he said - 'Just stay at home with mummy'.

Me, over-mother, never...

shockers · 21/12/2009 22:31

We had a few lean years between 14 and 17 but at 22 big snuggly hugs are back on the menu when DS1 is home from uni

ByThePowerOfGreyskull · 21/12/2009 22:35

ooh shockers that makes me feel very hopeful!

lolapoppins · 21/12/2009 22:39

Shockers - how lovely.

My dh comes froma family that didn't show affection at all, espcially not between the men. He is determined that he and ds will always have an affectionate relationship, even when ds is an adult.

MrsWillis · 21/12/2009 22:39

My DS is very much a daddy's boy and I only get cuddles when DH is at work so I make the most of them! DD on the other hand is my velcro baby and I have to peel her off me to go to the toilet. I don't want her to grow up yet!

Boys2mam · 21/12/2009 23:38

My DB is in Australia on his Big World Adventure and I LOVE LOVE LOVE the fact that he is having this Huge Life Changing Experience, learning not only Life Skills but Important Qualifications.

(all the ridiculous capitals denote the importance of his experiences

The fact that I not only remember the night he was born, but every other momentous occasion.

God I miss him.

carocaro · 21/12/2009 23:46

My DS2 is 2 and we snuggled today with bean bags and a fleece blanket and a packet of popcorn and watched 4 episodes of Timmy Time. DS1 who is 7 joined us for the last 2 episode, so I had once on each side, it was so lovely, I felt very very happy indeed.

Cripes Boys2mam - the very thought of mine being in Oz makes me want to weep! But I do know that they will go somewhere sometime and as you say will be great for them, but not just yet.

AliBellandthe40jingles · 22/12/2009 01:09

I crawled into my parent's bed for a cuddle a couple of weekends ago when we were staying with them

My DB is 26 and he still cuddles our Mum, and our Dad - no reason to grow out of cuddles, ever!

DS is 17mo and loves having cuddles. He walks up to me and says 'cugug mumum' with his little arms stretched out. It is the loveliest thing in the world
