I made them last night. It was my first time, and i added baileys to them. They are very tasty but look like tiny turds. I didn't get the hang of dipping them in chocolate. So does it matter that they look awful?

Oh yes please, I have a cup of coffee here and a chocolate truffle would go very well

holliejobber · 21/12/2009 07:16

These were for my friends who i am seeing tonight, but i will be making more for family, so any 'dipping' tips would be appreciated.

I made loads of truffles this weekend you roll them into balls and put them on a kebab stick or cocktail stick then dip in a bowl of melted choc then use a spoon to put choc over the top then leave on greaseproof paper on a chopping board and put in the fridge hth

Oh also to decorate I used choco chips from asda and desicated coconut, I also did some with crushed pistachios mixed in and one's dipped in mint dark choc and also some dipped in white choc with choc chips.

I made christmas truffles this week with all sorts of yummy things in them... Then my sister finally got back to me about Christmas and says "Oh, by the way Stu (her BF) is allergic to coconut." Would have been nice to know this more than a week before Christmas, oh well best make more truffles then..!

Dip them in cocoa powder, easy and looks nice.

senua · 21/12/2009 12:29

Package them nicely - in little petit fours cases

coldtits · 21/12/2009 12:31

Chill them before you dip them.

holliejobber · 21/12/2009 12:48

I think chilling them before i was dipping them will definately solve my truffles problems.
