to not go on Netmums anymore?

I used to have a brief look on Netmums each day. It was usually the same and I never really got into the forums on there.

I found MN through a survey and I can't get off the bloody site. My DH keeps complaining that I am obsessed and if I do have a look on Netmums, I'm gone again as it seems very poor compared to MN.

So AIBU to abandon Netmums?

I don't really spend much time on NM and never post there but they do seem to good at doing more local stuff than MN. MN doesn't seem to have any local info at all - has local sites but the three near me have about one posting every six months.

MavisEnderby · 13/12/2009 22:42

iT IS UP TO YOU.eACH TO THEIR OWN.i have never actually looked at NM or bounty, but after reading the vicious links about mn from people on both of these fora re the Daily Wail recent article don't think I shall bother.I was quite open minded before but reckon I will stick to mn,people seem much funnier, and are uncensored,on this site.

BoysAreLikeDogs · 13/12/2009 22:42

look

each to their own

no slagging other forums please

BoysAreLikeDogs · 13/12/2009 22:43

(v admiring of correct use of fora, Mavis)

Brunettelady · 13/12/2009 22:49

I'm not slagging NM and the local stuff is much better. But I just think that for the forums, MN is soooo much better, and the layout of the site in general seems better. Haven't been on Bounty though.

Err - what is the point of starting a thread on mnet saying netmums isn't as good as mnet. Surely we've all worked that out, that's why we're HERE reading your thread about how we should be here not anywhere else which is good because we are here.

onadietcokebreak · 13/12/2009 22:51

off to look at net mums now! See you in a bit!

Brunettelady · 13/12/2009 22:52

Its because I'm really bored and can't think of anything else to post. Maybe I should just go to bed.

I think NetMums is probably better at the local stuff, but I stay and chat more on MN. I think MN is better at discussion threads (more granular categories, thread size limit etc), but a bit lacking on localised content.

onadietcokebreak · 13/12/2009 22:57

Im back already! Not as easy to nativage but good for local stuff

notimetoshop · 13/12/2009 23:02

I have never posted on nm because you can't change your name - and as it's all local, it does seem pretty easy to id you as soon as you talk about schools etc.

muggglewump · 13/12/2009 23:06

Netmums is OK for local stuff.
If you want help/advice/support, though, you don't want to post on Netmums, or BBC, or Bounty.

Of course they will be supportive, they'll say 'ooh hunny, sweetie, chuckie.

Yup,as long as they can avoid actual giving advice, and can be twee, they will answer!

OrmIrian · 13/12/2009 23:09

Ha! Two people so far have said 'each to their own'. That is not the MN spirit at all. Get a grip please!

MavisEnderby · 13/12/2009 23:12

I love the odd cliche, despite using fora.

Just had a look at NetMums.

I no longer fear hell.
