Well actually I have made DH some sandwiches this morning and driven the van to the garage for its MOT. I was home by 12.30, DS slept til 2.30, and I have done precisely nothing in the house. I have watched some TV, played with DS a bit and that's it. I don't intend to do any this evening either!

Anyone else been lazy mum today? I am excusing myself as in shock that van will cost £675 to get through its MOT. That is precisely ALL the money that we have saved. Minus £15 that I will have to put in from my meagre spending money. Bah.

I have also done nothing.I had a midwife appointment a few hours ago and now I am so depressed I think I am just going to sit here all night and probably moan.

ObsidianBlackbirdMcNight · 04/12/2009 15:55

Oh no why are you depressed? Not bad news I hope

I hate housework ! I think it should be banned ! laziness is the way forward

Imisssleeping · 04/12/2009 18:22

Are you supposed to do housework every day?
oops never knew that

Tee2072 · 04/12/2009 18:24

Well, I did wash two loads of baby clothes, but I didn't fold them. So I don't think you can really count that as housework, since, really the washer/dryer did all the work.

Oh and I went to the grocery store. At least that's domestic.

Bigbadmummy · 04/12/2009 18:25

I get paid a daily rate and work from home. I find I am spending more and more of my day on here. House work is going to pot but hey, do I care?

Not for a second.

MrsChemist · 04/12/2009 18:39

I did housework today, which is novel for me. I'm at home all day with 3mo DS and when he is napping, all I want to do is brew up and have a nice quiet sit down. So I make my brew and sit down and by the time I am finished he is awake again and demanding attention.
YANBU.
Housework is overrated.

ObsidianBlackbirdMcNight · 04/12/2009 20:23

Well I cracked and did some laundry and washing up. It didn't take me long tho and now I'm drinking mulled wine and MNing! I might be more motivated if DH wasn't always out at the moment (working = good but out all the bloody time = bad) so isn't doing his jobs

Although to be fair he isn't making mess either so it's all good. Now I'm slightly tipsy and rambling. That will be down to Kat's patented brandy based mulled wine...hic [where's the slightly pissed emoticon?]

Why is everyone swearing??!! Housework may not kill you, but why take the chance....

lou33 · 04/12/2009 23:18

i have done nothing since sunday as i have flu, i have been delegating with varying amounts of success, to my children

sparklefrog · 04/12/2009 23:19

Well, I should really really do some housework, my frontroom floor is covered in crisps or biscuits, but I think it's a bit late to get the hoover out now.

Lotkinsgonecurly · 04/12/2009 23:35

Sparklefrog- you could get a dog instead they are quite handy for eating odd food from the floor.

Housework is definatley overated. I've just increased my pt hours to pay for a cleaner. At least house is cleaned once a week. Is air of calm when cleaners have been. Love them.

Hate housework, much better to play with ds than clean...

CardyMow · 04/12/2009 23:55

I spent my evening playing whack-a-mole with DS2 and DD.....MUCH more fun than housework ....except I lost to a 6yo....
