He's talking in Parliament about the Afghan situation and the threat from "Alky Ada".

I just visualise a little old lady who is overfond of cherry brandy!.

Can't one of his many advisors suggest he pronounces it correctly?

Ever since i heard that expression, i can't get Alky Ada out of my head....

Apparently, he's not too far off the true pronunciation... AL KA-EDA

AL KAI EEDA is not actually right... despite that being what we are used to hearing in English...

YABU - he's got a sexy voice, he can say whatever he likes.

WetAugust · 30/11/2009 19:11

Sexy voice - I think not

have you noticed that everytime he has to read any figures i.e. "my governement has now placed the people of Britain in £230 zillion of debt" it he sounds like a speak-your-weight machine (or fonejacker).

i love it when they suddenly decide they have been pronouncing something wrong for years and change say like Gdaffi - to Quadaffi

I DO DO DO hate the "Gla( short a) ..sgow" from RP southern presenters though
you get that on the andrew marr history prog too - short As out of place - presumeable for the US market

Aha freegeorge, but would you believe that Gadaffi should actually be pronounced Gazaffi...

Am a veritable font of useless pronunciations, me...
