According to my DD (aspiring opera singer) Katherine Jenkin's cure for a sore throat & tired voice is warm pineapple juice and manuka honey, Charlotte Church's cure - port & brandy & a bucket load of Dom Perignon. Hmmm wonder who is most fun????

(Sadly, I'm sorry to say that according to DD the vile sounding pineapple juice does work.....)

Me and my DH can't stand her either. I went right off her when she came on Loose Women and sang Bryan Adams 'Everything I do' and did it in Italian because 'it sounds classier'.

She isn't technically that good either.

Well. You Tube, KJ singing Hallelujah on GMTV (another thing I'm not pining for), it's.. erm... hysterical.

The Received Pro-nun-ciation; she sounds like Audrey Hepburn in My Fair Lady. "Yoo don't rahlly care for music doo yoo".

She gives the impression that if you looked round the back all you would find is cardboard and gaffer tape.

Argh, sorry, and I've just got past the first phrase and she's singing "Hallelujah" as if she's blowing out a candle "In Hertford, Hereford, and Hampshire..."...

Isn't it pronounced Allelujah?

Oh, my first proper !

I find her singing dreadfully nasal. She wears too much makeup (on ordinary TV rather than concerts when I expect that much slap is needed) - which is a shame as it ages her and she is probably very pretty beneath. She also "seems" like a nice person but obviously I have no idea.

Always preturbed by people who say they "hate" celebrities. You don't know them. It's a strong word to use. I can't think of a single person in real life that I "hate" (there are some whom I dislike or find irritating though).

The difference between her and Myleene Klass is that she can actually sing. I like her singing. Are the people that say "technically" she isn't that good in a position to actually judge, ie, do you actually know something about singing?

I am a singer and singing teacher. Take it from me - KJ is a dreadful singer. She has no technique to speak of, makes a horrible over manufactured sound and I find her performances totally insincere. She wouldn't have a hope of making it in the opera world. That she is called an opera singer is a joke! I know so many singers who are much more talented than Ms Jenkins - it angers me that she is held up as a wonderful singer. Her Double D boobage is largely responsible no doubt.

I've nothing against her - but she's so dull, if she was a colour she would be beige.

She reminds me of a strange porcelain doll and her teeth are weird.

I really dislike her voice - no consonants, too much warbly vibrato. Sounds as if she is singing in an icerink.

I heart Charlotte Church though!

Charlotte Church is definitely better no doubt. But I have to say I always thought KJ had quite a pretty voice.
