To want to complain about this!

I got a taxi home from my supermarket. Too many bags and missed the bus. The taxi driver got out of the car to help me put bags in the boot. I said hello and instead of saying hello back he just asked where i live.

I told him while he was chucking my bags of shopping in the boot. I went to put the last bag in and he shut the boot door on my head it went with a thud! It hurt so much and i tried not to cry. (Carpark full of people) he just mummbled sorry and got in the car. I have taken the reg no and i am thinking of making a complaint. I thought he could of let me off for the taxi fare. I have a banging headache and a big lump now. AIBU in making a complaint? Thanks

YANBU, but I am at a bit of a loss as to who you would complain to and what you expect to get from it. Compo would probably need a medical examination.
HOpe your headache settles down.

It was an accident. I shut my dp's hand in he door a couple of weeks ago. He didn't sue me - because it was an accident.

If he had done it on purpose then of course complain - but it was an accident.

Hope you feel better, just make sure you are ok. Many many years ago my brother shut the car door on my head, I ended up having a MRI scan and he had bruised my brain

I can see why you're upset, but it was just an accident. No point in complaining.

It may have been an accident but seems he wasn't taking much care and was rushing, which contributed. I'd be bloody pissed off, and would probably want to complain to the taxi company, if there was one, but if it's just one guy and you just have his registration, then I don't see what you can do. It's horrible hitting your head though - hope you feel better.

He was probably having a bad day and wasnt thinking. You could complain to the cab company about his attitude, but to be honest I doubt that even that would be worth it. Our local taxi firm has a lot of old boys that are generally like that all the time, one actually shut a door and smacked my eldest in the head with it, he didnt even apoligise, but I kept an eye for the usual signs of concussion. They are always in a rush to get to the next job.

yanbu. I'd say something. It's not so much about what you'd get out of it, but his employers need to know. For all we or they know he does this kind of thing all the time, which is not good.
