Note: Please bear in mind that this topic encourages posters to give their opinions - i.e. they might disagree with you.

That says it all really. If you want everyone to be cutsey, nice and agree with you then don't blinking well post in this topic. Fed up to the back teeth of posters who turn ansty just because they don't get the response they want, accept you are wrong or there is a difference of opinion and move on, don't keep dragging your justifications out or drip feed or turn on other posters because guess what they disagree.

Thats all.

Oh and this is just a generalisation not directed at anyone specifically.

I think most people read it as 'Please tell me I'm not being unreasonable...'

Lol YANBU to expect people to not be offended at a difference to their own opinion, but, saying that some of the posts on here can be...dunno how to say it...curt? Some of it is pretty forcefully put. As you say though, if they are likely to be sensitive then don't post

Though in fairness, sometimes people take the fact a thread's in AIBU to mean it's completely open season - be as rude to the OP as you like, it doesn't matter because hey, it's in AIBU.

But yes, the righteous indignation does grate.

I think that IABU has a therapeutic quality. Both for the OP, but also for those who respond Sometimes it's helpful to be able to tell someone they are being a dick. If this response is unacceptable tis best to post elsewhere. Just in case

You're out of order OP.
I have reported your post as I find it objectionable

IN general I agree with you but really some posters do just like to stick the knife in - after all, there are ways of politely telling people that you think they are completely insane/wrong/moronic/criminally negligent or whatever. Not that you'd think so to read some posters' responses though!

Thank you Fimbo, just doing my civic duty

YANBU, but some posters go that extra mile to be extremely rude and nasty which is all a bit unneccesary imo. It's almost as if they use MN's reputation for not being fluffy wuffy cutesy pie to really stick the knife in.

Perhpas AIBU as a topic should be reserved for those who have made a certain number of posts so that by the time they are allowed to post, they knows what to expect and crucially have developed a "thickened by MN" skin such that the insults just bounce off?

don't drag the detritus of your marriage/job/family across AIBU and then get the hump if someone has temerity to disagree with you.

most AIBU is high octane, high expressed emotion,to which the answer is YABU you tit
