YANBU,

I have christmas for 3 kids this year and 2 of them have December birthdays now too, DS1 is 5 on 13th and DD is 1 on the 24th!!

And I haven't saved a penny this year at all

OMG...

missmama · 14/08/2009 11:48

133 days until Christmas guys!!

Saxonne · 14/08/2009 13:23

I have just been down to my local Oxfam with some of the DD's outgrown school uniforms, and they have 2010 calendars and diaries on display! It seems as if even for charity shops Christmas does begin in August.

HerHonesty · 14/08/2009 13:25

yes but this year i am so excited already because my first child will be 14 months and just about able to get excited about things like christmas lights... before she pulls the tree over...

Floopy21 · 14/08/2009 13:30

HerHonesty; by 26th Dec, you'll be on our side!

No no no it can't be true!!!

ILYM · 14/08/2009 13:33

Love Christmas
but do think it does start too early (earlier every year) and then everyone gets fed up with it.
Still - easter eggs will be in the shops soon

MrsBadger · 14/08/2009 13:42

I will be 8m pg at Christmas

so if I start now and do a little bit at a time, I might not descend into The Frenzy

JodieO · 14/08/2009 13:45

YABU, especially when it's cooking threads. If you make your own puddings, cakes etc they need to be done early to be at their best. What's wrong with that?

I love Christmas and talking about it, just avoid threads if you're not interested, same as with anything else.

Saxonne · 14/08/2009 13:53

Floopy, YANBU.

I personally love Christmas and look forward to it for months in advance, but I know not every body feels the same.

Don't want anybody to fall out, not with this being the season of goodwill and all!!

nicknameidlike · 14/08/2009 13:59

ho ho ho! note to self i will NOT buy my tree on the 2nd December because i do not want it to be dead come 18th and have to replace it with an awful fake one much to DH delight

zipzap · 14/08/2009 14:15

When I take ds to nursery I drive past a sign that is already advertising for Christmas Parties 2009.

It has been there since Febuary .

Is there really anybody out there who is thinking about booking their xmas party for next year before Valentine's Day? Crazy.

Only thing it has done is annoyed me for being there sooooo early - and if I was looking for an xmas party venue it wouldn't be on my list for precisely that reason!

Mind you I do find myself picking up the odd present here and there in the sales at the moment - if I buy a couple of bits now and the rest in a mad panic the last few days before xmas then on average does that make me reasonably organised?!?

elmofan · 14/08/2009 14:16

i have already bought some of the dc's christmas presents

Saxonne · 14/08/2009 15:07

Sorry sorry sorry I wasn't going to mention Christmas again but the postie has just delivered a Christmas catalogue and that will be my bathtime reading tonight!

funkybuddah · 14/08/2009 15:11

Where are these threads? I want links!!!

quoteTHISyafuckers · 14/08/2009 15:14

I have no money, no prospect of getting any money (other than for food and mortgage) and 4 family members with dec birthdays.
