There's a suspected case at my DS's school. There really is no way of avoiding it now, just have to get on with things.

I definitely don't think I have had it/have it. I am convinced I have an ear infection.

But the GP I saw was obsessed with swine flu, and school are a bit too when I have phoned in sick. Think they are glad I have no said I am not going back til next week. I feel too ill too at present. Think school just don't want to take chances as there have been two suspected cases in the class I work in.

I've got it now and it is far from being the worst flu I have ever had. I have had flu twice in my life and both times were much, much worse than this.

It must be worrying if you someone close to you has serious health conditions that make them more at risk of complications.

TBH my ear infection sounds at least as bad, if not worse, than the symptoms descrbed by the children who have returned to school having had swine flu. Think I am tempted to swap right now. At least my head might not hrut quite so much!

I am aware however that some people have had it much worse and not belittling that; just that the cases locally seem to be very mild.

I must admit, the worst ever flus (2x) I had was when we lived out out in cyprus, but ever since I have not gotten ever that ill again....but I felt terrible at the time...burning up, almost dilirious, etc....
