to blame MN for burnt lunch?

I put ds's lunch on the stove to warm up whilst he is napping upstairs. I thought, "oh, I'll just have a quick look on MN while it warms up". Next thing I know, the lunch is burnt onto the bottom of the pan.

So, AIBU to blame MN for being so damn engrossing, or is it my fault for not doing something sensible like setting the oven timer?

YABU. Have some self restraint woman!

I do this all the time. It's normal.

I've done that today, I am doing the kids and DP's tea for tonight (I do this to save them from more Pizza ) I'm at work tonight.

It was only carrotts boiling away on the stove, I heard a weird bang and smelt burning. I burnt the carrotts, I swear I was only on here for 5 mins [

Sadly, it is the second time this week. You'd think I'd learn, really. Repeat to self, "there is no such thing as a quick look on MN, there is no such thing as a quick look on MN"!

Now, must just pop over to look at the good housekeeping section for tips on how to remove the smell of burning from one's house....
