I'll then put the CDs on spindles.

It somehow seems wrong though, especially the once I've had since i was 14.

It seems like sacrilege all these cds I used to save my pocket money / £5 HMV vouchers at birthdays for. But I have too many.

And we'll soon be moving a lot so need a cull.

We have just cleared out - actually just the plastic cd/dvd cases and the paper fronts. Nice colour coded cd cases
Black - Computer disks
Black - Adult film DVDs (keep it clean - i mean things like blade, and stuff like that not adult adult films)
Red- documentaries
blue-kids dvds
black - kids dvds

So no chance of ever grabbing the wrong folder for ds to pick a film from then

I threw all my cases and covers away, just have the CDs in those flip case things. Much less space...but I never quite know what songs are on a specific CD - oh well thats the trill of it!

Go for it!
We've put all ours in the loft, so not gotten rid of them completely - but they are only back-up as all the music is on our pc and ipod. I can definitely recommend taking the space back.
