..opening my front door and dropping things into the porch without ringing the doorbell?

The front door is unlocked in the morning to let DH and kids out, but new delivery man (I shop online a lot, so its not the Royal Mail postie) just opens the front door, drops stuff in then drives off.

Me no likee.

Poor bloke! He probably thought he was doing you a favour.

I would by far prefer this to being disturbed all the time. He is probably trying to be helpful and do what he thinks is best.

I know exactly what the OP means - our postie does this all the time, he is just too lazy or busy to knock, so I locked the door. His solution to shove things through an open window. I called the post office to ask politely that he did not do this as he had knocked mum's ashes off the window ledge in our spare room (live in a bungalow) but still he kept on going. Last time he popped the package through the bathroom window and broke the blinds which cost £50.00 to replace as have to be made. I am so very annoyed.

Anyway I caught hold of him the other day and told him point blank not to put stuff through the windows, I also told him I had given permission for any neighbour to take a package for us and that if I was not in he must leave it with them.

He whinged a bit about being busy, and I quite sweetly said I could arrange for him to have all the time off he needed if he wanted as I would put in a formal complaint every time it happened.

He's dropping things in your porch not in your house. What is the problem??
