To let a 3 year old bother me

My DD (3) was at dancing class today. One of the classes finished and some girls came out to get their mums. I sit with a group of mums.
One of their dd's asked who was my DD's mum and then whispered something in her mums ear.

I know i am being daft but it really bothered me.

AIBU to let this bother me. Prob need to toughen up some before DD gets older.

Maybe she wants to ask you and your DD on a play-date?

lou222 · 03/04/2009 19:04

yabu if you don't know what she said
your letting something bother you that could have been nice
if you were that concerned why didn't you ask what she said

YABU

You'd better toughen up!

hairycaterpillar · 03/04/2009 19:19

Really what could a 3yr old have said that could be so bad?

Agree with LibrasJLB she was probably asking if your DD could come play.

traceybath · 03/04/2009 19:20

Assume it was something nice - as others have said like a playdate.

Must say i'm not a fan of whispering like that though - i do think its rather rude.

nametaken · 03/04/2009 19:24

Have you got an extremely large nose? Perhaps she was commenting on that.

captainpeacock · 03/04/2009 19:33

Agree with traceybath, whispering is awful no matter what age. If my dcs tried to whisper to me in front of somebody when they were younger I would have repeated what they said out loud so that nobody was offensive or told them to say it out loud. Having said that you can't let it upset you, as others have said, it might have been something nice.

lol nametaken.

YABU, but I might have felt a bit unsettled too.

mumeeee · 03/04/2009 22:54

YABU. Perhaps she just likes whispering
