So, am sitting here with a lovely, really lovely glass of rose - it was half price in threshers and it is just gorgeous - but very morish. I want to have another glass, making this one last - but if i have another, then i will have another and another!! Then i will be pissed and feel sick! I don't want to get pissed, i don't need the alcohol to relax, it doesnt really agree with me. But really, only wine will cut it for a nice chill out drink in the evening. WHY is this? I would quite happily drink what i had in front of me if it had no alcohol but tasted the same. The only low alcohol wine ive tasted, was vile and gave me indigestion.

i asked for low alchol wine in tesco and he sort of smirked at me

water down with soda water?

SpinningEm · 06/03/2009 20:37

God if only!!!!!!!!!!!!

OatcakeCravings · 06/03/2009 20:38

YANBU - but - its the alcohol that makes it taste so good! Otherwise grape juice would be delish and it isn't! Could you water a glass down with a couple of ice cubes to make it last longer? Better than low alcohol wine - that's all I can suggest

EldonAve · 06/03/2009 20:40

they tried but it was too low alcohol to be called wine

RedOnHerHead · 06/03/2009 20:40

I had a delicious rose from asda when I was pregnant with DS2. It really was delicious - and cheap too - only about £2-£3. It wasn't in the wine aisle though, it was near the pops. It looked like a bottle of wine too.

juneybean · 06/03/2009 20:42

My mum drinks Eisberg, she doesn't seem to complain about it so it might be nice lol

5inthebed · 06/03/2009 20:47

Low alohol wine? Thats just grapejuice

I heard the Asda one was meant to be nice as well, I'm not convinced however.

RedOnHerHead · 06/03/2009 20:47

even cheaper than I remember - here

RedOnHerHead · 06/03/2009 20:49

If you scroll down to the 6th row, there are a few on there to choose from

bluebump · 06/03/2009 20:51

Sainsburys do a lovely non alcoholic champagne. My mum bought me some for my birthday when I was pg with DS.

LucyEllensmummy · 06/03/2009 21:07

It must be possible... Becks to a great Non alcoholic beer, which tastes (in my limited experience of lager) just like the regular stuff.

I would LOVE a decent NA glass of wine right now!!

(LEM - didn't want to post again on the other thread... Not sure there is anything I could add now, and really think it's best left... Have a glass of that wine for me? )

Haribosmummy · 06/03/2009 21:12

do not to

trixymalixy · 06/03/2009 21:16

We're drinking sainsburys alcohol free sparkling wine atm, it is very drinkable.

Fre do a nice rose and a nice red and I had really nice alcohol free cava from the lono drinks company.

Sainsburys and Tesco also do low alcohol cider which is very good and there are loads of good alcohol free beers

LucyEllensmummy · 06/03/2009 21:17

Thanks for your post haribo - glad you can leave that thread as that thread! I was a bit when you didn't respond. But i can understand - i keep getting sucked back in but im not posting on there anymore either.

The wine is luuuuuurrrrrvely

see here
and here

You can get them in Tescos.

Haribosmummy · 06/03/2009 21:24

Ooh... I'll check those out! I can't face a long hot summer without a glass of wine!!!

(LEM - Yes, just a thread... I wouldn't ever have posted if I'd realised it wasn't AIBU - I know that is my mistake and not really the best excuse, but AIBU are lighter, just people wading in, never really expecting it to be taken so seriously... An AN thread, where someone really is looking for support is a different kettle of fish, isn't it? So, I thought it best to apologise, once I'd realised my mistake, and then just leave it... It was never my intention to really (properly) offend people, but I can see how that might seem - on an AN thread... Anyway... can't take it back, so best move on... ) HM x

Have you tried www.lono.co.uk ? Their low/no alcohol wines are supposed to be nice

Jeremyll33 · 06/03/2009 21:59

I also wish they'd make this. I am guilty of the same crime. Tasty stuff - hey why not another, then another.....then III cccan'''TT tyype prpppperly ennymore!

Chellesgirl · 06/03/2009 22:12

I dunno if youve tried it and probably dont concider it to be 'wine' but Lambrusco is really sweet and fruity. My Grandad used to give it to me and my older sister as it was only about 4%.

LucyEllensmummy · 06/03/2009 22:18

rotfl at lambrusco - sorry, i would be right back at the local park with my girly mates at 16!!! Not that desperate

OP posts:
Chellesgirl · 06/03/2009 22:45

ok sorry.
I aint a drinker anymore T total so I wouldnt know. So Lambrini wasnt the stuff you used to drink in the park?

Chellesgirl · 06/03/2009 22:46

I used to watch my freinds drink and take drugs but never really found it too interesting. Yes I got pissed sometimes but that was my aunty's fault - everytime.
