I'm trying to multitask here, by doing a few jobs on the internet and listening to the BBC news at the same time.

I have been able to do them both quite happily, until there was a presenter where I couldn't really understand. I had to stop what I was doing on the internet, so that I could concentrate on what he was saying...

At the end of a busy day, I don't have the energy or pateience to concentrate, so why should I? Surely the BBC can pay someone who doesn't have a strong accent?

YABU.

You want to go back to the days when they all sounded exactly the same and regional accents were never heard?

Was he...

I have no idea what the accent was, as I could barely understand what he was saying.

In my job too, i hear all kinds of accents.

Is this all you have to rant about?

Would say that I can't be bothered to post on something so banal. But I have posted. The sentiment is still the same though.

Read the Sun to catch up on the news - it doesn't have an accent!
