Is it just me or do other mums find they are constantly switching from one bag to another depending on going to work, going out with one child, going out with two or just nipping out to the shops? Does anyone know of a decent sized bag that could serve all purposes - and mean I don't lock myself out/forget mobile/leve purse at home - but still look fairly stylish and get as though I'm carting round the kitchen sink?? Is it just me being hopelessly disorganised or is this usual?!

Watching with interest - have yet to find ideal bag, it's v annoying having several!

yanbu smart enough for work but funky enough for play

I had a large minky colour patent one for this winter which has been great.

For me the secret is outside pockets. I use the one on the front as my handbag, phone, purse keys only and the rest of the bag is then free for cars, cups, spare clothes snacks etc etc.

The Holy Grail . . lead me to it.

have got a funky oi oi bag that is a proper changing bag but looks good enough to pretend its a shoulder bag. big enough to hold nappies, wipes, snack, phone, purse, hairbrush but yet i dont feel like i have the kitchen sink insitu.

I need this bag too! To suit going ouit on my own, out with DD, to work and to tutorials too! I have about 5 different bags

Seems I'm not the only one then! Woodenchair where did you get your minky one from?

I've got a fantastic one from Debenhams that I got for my birthday in December.
It's the perfect size.
I use it to cart everything I need for 2 little ones in the day but am also quite happy to use it in the evening or out on my own in the day.
I'll try and find a link!

2pt4kids · 18/02/2009 20:05

Its this
and its now half price!

Is much nicer in real life imo

MinkyBorage · 18/02/2009 20:11

How about here or here or here

fififlowerpot33 · 18/02/2009 22:08

Thanks very much for the ideas and links. Loved the Rocha bag but when I clicked it's sadly out of stock - ahh, so close! Having a good look through the others.

Across the body Bradley bag - tis the only way forward, what with DS3 10 months on hip and DSs 1+2 on each hand, well, when they cooperate. But if they don't, I need to be able to run fast (as fast as baby on hip with allow ).

Tommy · 18/02/2009 22:13

oh.... now you've got me thinking that I could just have one bag that serves all purposes
(DH will be very if I come home with another bag )

kickassangel · 18/02/2009 22:20

i used to have one small bag with just my personal stuff in, then a bigger bag which held nappies, drink etc, and i could fit the small one inside.
still found if i was just nipping down the road, i'd grab keys & purse from the bag.
big bag now my 'travel bag' which holds all dd's toys & passports etc when we go on holiday

Haribolicious · 18/02/2009 22:36

I love Kipling bags and have several and they are the way forward IMO! My current one is the Arkan and it's big enough for mine and DS's bits n pieces! It has lots of pockets, comes in funky colours, is made from a tough n waterproof material, has an adjustable strap which can be shoulder or across the body, has one of those internal keyring things so you can attach keys n never lose them at the bottom of your bag again AND comes with a cute monkey keyring that has kept DS occupied on many occasions
