I saw the asthma nurse with dd on December 23rd she told me to give dd her preventer in the morning and at night .Also that dd was fine and she wouldn't need to see her until September and to just put a repeat in when she needs it.

I did not collect a scripr for her in December and got one at the beginning of Jan ,I noticed on Monday it was starting to feel light so put a request for a repeat in ,went to pick it up and I got a letter saying they would not give me another inhaler until I had seen asthma nurse .

I explained I had only seen her in December and the notes say I am ordering too much and have to go and see the asthma nurse again ,they did give me a script because I explained she would probably run out over the weekend.

So since christmas I have ordered two scripts and only ordering when it starts to run out .

This has been the same for three years with no problem so what is going on ,funnily dp orders the same and has not been called on but he pays for his scripts has my dd's asthma become a credit crunch victim ?

No - the asthma nurse is simply concerned that your daughter is needing her inhaler more than a child should or you are using too much - either way she wants to check the situation before more is prescribed. It has nothing to do with money and everything to do with proper care - just make an appointment!

If she is needing her ventolin too often it means she may need a better preventative inhaler.

Totally normal

I have made an appointment. The reason I ask is because she wasn't concerned at the end of December and for the past how many years she is getting through one about every six weeks .
She didn't want to see us again until September nothing has changed and it was on her advice to put in repeats until September.

It is not the ventolin I am ordering too much of they have queried the preventer.

I am quite happy to take dd to see the nurse BTW I am just finding it a bit odd that I am ordering too much when it has always lasted between 4 and 6 weeks .
