I just sent a message to a friend suggesting we meet up.

She (no kids) has come back and said any Friday in March.

It's not even the end of Jan FFS!

AIBU to think either she doesn't really want to meet up, or that really if she did want to meet up she could be a bit more flexible????

At least she's given you rough dates. Maybe she's really busy for the next month and a week?

It will be the last time we see her so I want to make sure we def do!

We may actually be leaving before March anyway hence me asking now and hence my disappointment at her non-availability.

ah, you see, that's different. If you said 'we're buggering off mid-end feb. would love to meet up before then' and she says 'any friday in march' then no, YANBU.

I would just give her a couple of dates you can make and get her to choose one. If she still says March then do you really want to waste the time you could be spending with other, better, friends.

Tell her March may be too late and see if she becomes more flexible. She probably will.

How far away are you from each other are you, hours or just around the corner. Lack of dc's isn't really relevant if she's got her own issues atm ?? trying to keep her job, or out of the country on business (just trying to second guess).

Does she know you're moving and may not see her for quite a while????

We're going moving to Australia.

We live in the same city, but we can all get around by public transport and / or car.

She's not from here either so it's possible that she isn't available because she's going back to where she's from in the meantime (I guess ).

We've agreed on a date at the end of Feb, if we bring our moving forward we will just have to bring it forward after then!
