To be a bit annoyed at dp taking my new phone?

Ok so I'm not sure wjy I am so annoyed but I am,and thought venting on here would help

I was due an upgrade on my mobile last week, and was offered some really crappy phones, and had a load of hassle with the company. Eventually after complaining loads I got the handset that I wanted, although I had always planned on sticking it on ebay as its worth over £250, and was planning on sticking the money in the holiday/secret stash fund.

Anyways the phones comes, and now dp has decided that he really likes it and would like to keep it.

I feel really guilty for grudging him it as-

a) we dont really "need" the money IYKWIM, although it would have been nice

b) I'm a SAHM, dp provides everything for us-we have a shared pot.

c) His phone is really old and crappy - although to be fair this is because he has sold his upgrade in the past.

Although we have both worked in telecoms technology for over 10 years he hardly ever uses his phone, so I just see it as a major waste - it has all of these functions that he will never use. Every time I see him playing with it I see £250 bouncing in front of my face

Tell me to get a grip please!!

get a grip!

seriously, if I were in your shoes I'd be pissed off as well. The phone is yours and you had plans for it and it's a bit off for him to just nab it.

Could you tell him you want your new phone and offer him your old one instead, then either keep your upgrade or buy a cheap one and sell it as planned...

Forgot to say that I dont even think it has been acknowledged as a gift and a thank you received

Sadly I dont think trying to pass my old one on to him would work. Up until last week he wasnt arsed what phone he had I think it is probably a male thing - everyone that he works with has top of the range handsets so he wanted one too... grrrr

All items such as phones, ipods, laptops, Nintendo DS etc that come into this house for me are pink or some other girly colour. I don't particularly like pink but pretend I do so the dh can't borrow them.

He has lost three phones that were mine that I lent or gave him so this is the only to prevent him wanting them.

I'm with fleur on this one. I have a DH and 4 DSs and this Christmas I asked for a new camera but it had to be pink. When DH asked why, I just said no-one in the house would want to borrow/use/nick it and it's worked

Forgot Pink Camera, also have one of those too! It does work though like you say countingto10.

I just wanted to sell it though. Unfortunatley I dont think there are many top of the range phones in pink

I have watched him flinging it about, and shoving it in his pocket today and have had to physically restrain myself from strangling him with it
