ds asked me to get an xbox game for him, he is paying for it.
I went in shop and aske bloke(game shop and bloke knows his stuff)
bloke said he didn't stock it as it was crap and he knew a lot of people who have finished it in 3 hrs.
so even though I could have got it in another shop I didn't.

the game costs £36
as I was getting it for him I refuse to waste £36
if he wants it he can go and get it himself

What game was it?

laweaselmys · 05/12/2008 12:21

What game is it - I reckon pass on what the bloke said, give him back the money and say, you can still get it if you want but I have warned you.

Did you get a recommendation for something better? That might soften the blow a bit, if he is expecting to be able to play it tonight!

MrsSnape · 05/12/2008 12:24

Depends what game it was but I'm sure most xbox games you can buy cheaper than £36.

I just bought Fable 2 yesterday for £19, RRP £39.99

star wars something or other.
ds is 16 so can do it himself, just he is home with the mother of all colds, so I am feeling all soft

Force unleashed? DS wants that! lol Gamestation have it quite cheap(ish), about £25 I think.

tiredsville · 05/12/2008 12:36

YABU, it was yours son's money, he was ill and that was the game he wanted.

Yanda · 05/12/2008 13:06

YABU, agree with tiredsville. Just because some people finish it in 3 hours doesn't mean he will does it? If its what he wanted to spend his money on. Besides as its game he could always amazon it afterward or trade it in.

scaryteacher · 05/12/2008 14:33

My ds has the Force Unleashed on PS2 and 3, and loves it. It's not the actual time it takes to finish it he tells me; it's the replay value, and trying to collect all the 'rewards' hidden in the game.

I wish it had taken only 3 hours. I might have got to talk to him about something other than the game!

pamelat · 05/12/2008 14:51

can you maybe borrow it from video shop over Christmas and tell DS that if he still likes it then you can buy it him (in the sales?) because you have heard its too easy?

Or look for second hand ebay one, if its so rubbish (?) maybe it will be for sale on there.

HappyMummyOfOne · 06/12/2008 03:27

Star Wars unleased is only £17.99 on play.com.
