I admit, we should have looked into it, but we bought a rather nice light fitting for the kitchen for £7 in B&Q. Now all the bulbs have blown and they cost £8.99 for a three pack.

It's the same with razors, printers etc

Blame Mr Gilette. He came up with the idea of the loss leader.

We have lights like that. It drives me bananas. Saving for a new kitchen (it might never happen) I would love to figure out the lighting without DH going all moody. We have 9 spots (his choice)from Home base that blow regularly. What do you get instead? I know florscent lights are good value but I know DH will thinks its ugly.

Oooh YANBU, I am usually wise to these but got caught out by bl**dy Calpol thermometer and the stupid probe cover things, went through the included ones sooo fast and after that they are £5 a pack! Electric toothbrush heads, too....
