I treat myself to a little desert at lunch times and today i realised.....

They put the price of my favorite dersert up

From 54p to £1.49

I can buy a whole victorian sponge for that

How do they justify charging £1.49 for 2 strawberries, a blob of custard and a bit of cream?

2nd spelling correct.

They need to put their prices up to pay for all their sleb z lister ads.

VinegarTits · 20/11/2008 22:47

Should i write and complain?

GibbonInARibbon · 20/11/2008 22:47

yes dessert and bloody cheeky bastards is all I can say.

nobodysfool · 20/11/2008 22:47

I would be tempted to write to them and ask them to justify it.

VinegarTits · 20/11/2008 22:47

Yes, my thoughts too Gibbon

2nd spelling. Unless, of course you treat yourself to half an hour in the sand, building sandcastles!

Oh, and bloody hell! That's an enormous hike on price for a pud!

VinegarTits · 20/11/2008 22:49

I think they thought i wouldnt notice

popped in as usual this lunch time

and couldnt find it (strawberry sundae incase your wondering)

had to go on a hunt

they had moved it round the corner

and put the price up!

Just re label it "Diet" food and it will be quite reasonably priced.

themoon66 · 20/11/2008 22:53

Just buy the whole victoria sponge [yum]

debzmb62 · 20/11/2008 23:06

put a s on the end of dessert,s and its what you are !! "stressed" lol buy the way about morrisons i buy heniez dora the explorer shape pasta for my little girl its normally 31p its gone up to 49p in a week wtf !! its still 31p at tesco.s btw

TrillianAstra · 20/11/2008 23:07

That is a ridiculous price hike, I know wheat and milk and things have gone up (and strawberries are out of season) but the price of ingredients hasn't tripled!

VinegarTits · 20/11/2008 23:16

I was really shocked at how much it went up, i walked away, disgruntled, with no dessert, fuckers.

OP posts:
pointydog · 20/11/2008 23:24

it's because of the high fuel prices, the sipermarkets are really struggling, they have few options pen to them.

Oh hang on, petrol is down to 90p a litre, diesel not too far behind.

TrillianAstra · 20/11/2008 23:44

Write and complain. Definitely. On paper, not by email. It only costs a stamp (and an envelope) but for some reason companies take you much more seriously if you've bothered to write a real letter.

I complained to Homebase once about some rubbish drilling on a flatpacked chest of drawers, they sent an apology and a voucher!

Not that you're here pureply for financial gain, but they've caused you mental stress (add in more 'no win no fee' type blather here).
