and not know what to say to this woman!!

This morning I was taking my son (5) into school. There was a woman coming out of the door, as she was coming down the steps I said 'don't shut the door!' as the door has a doorbell which often takes a while to get answered. But she didn't hear me in time so the door shut anyway.

As she walked away my son who was in a strop with me about something shouted 'Silly woman!' and I said 'sshhh!!!' But by then she had walked away.

He was talking to me which is bad enough but the poor woman would have thought he was talking to her...and I have to see her tomorrow

I doubt she's given it another thought. And my DS when five would have got a lot more than "shh!" from me if he'd spoken to me like that, strop or no. [Evilmum]

I'm with the old lady. I'd have said a lot more than ssshhh. DS said "stupid" last week, it seemed to be about me. I hit the roof.

Just give the door woman a nice smile when you see her.

no I did say more than ssshh after she had gone! but at the time I just wanted him to shut up because I thought he was talking to her...totally unacceptable whether to me or her
