For having all the lie ins?

Dh and I used to alternate having a lie in - him on saturdays and me on sundays.

Then, DS was born 12 weeks ago and he's up between every hour to 3 but usually 1.5 to 2 hours and I do all the night feeds as I'm BFing. DH sleeps through. DH has just got up in the morning with whichever DC has woken up first so far - giving me all the lie ins but is this fair? I got up this morning with them and left him in bed - the first time in ages . I really appreciate the lie-ins he gives me because I usually feel so crap in the mornings after such busy nights!

YANBU.

Your DH sounds nice and you sound like you need the sleep!

sounds like a plan, not like you are sleeping in a greedy way, you have been up half the night. Your dh sounds nice, make sure you tell him how much you apprectiate him.

Jeez, your DH sounds wonderful, but you should be having the lie ins if you are getting up all night. Don't stress, just enjoy them!

SheikYerbouti · 19/10/2008 07:43

Yes, it's not like you are sleeping 14 hours a day!

I forgot to add that last night DS gave me 3 hours between feeds, so although nstill snoozy this morning, I had only fed him twice so thought I should get my a*se out of bed!

If your DH is getting an unbroken nights sleep, it is only fair that you get the lie in. Enjoy!

He did say that I shouldn't be giving him a lie in on a sunday (ie my day was saturday) - perhaps he thinks I should do it eveyr weekend now

My DH lets me have a lie in every sat and I let him every sunday. This has become routine for us.

The only time we really dont do this is if one of us is ill.

Umm so let me see if I have this right. You are being woken up every 2 hours to bf your DS every night. Your DH has a full nights unbroken sleep 7 nights a week, but poor diddums has to get up in the morning.

Heck I know which deal I'd rather have. You have a young baby, being tired comes with the patch and getting up early does in no way match the sheer exhaustion of being up every 2 hours 7 nights a week.

YANBU at all, and tbh I'm not getting these posters who think he is a wonderful DH and all. You haven't had a full nights sleep for 12 weeks and he is bellyaching about getting up at what 6am , 7am after a good nights sleep.
