hold a kids' party, 50 kids, at home, homemade food on a Saturday afternoon.

And then go out karaoke singing (starting with a sore throat, and of course total exhaustion) and stay out drinking until 2:30 in the morning.

With no childcare arranged for the next morning.

Ow ow ow ow ow ow ow my head.

50

NotQuiteCockney · 28/09/2008 12:12

Seriously, how the hell did I do that? I haven't had a good night's sleep for a week. I did cakes etc etc for the two boys' birthdays this week, and then a big insane party. And then stayed out until 2:30 in the morning. Oh, and didn't really eat yesterday either. (Or today, so far, shocker.)

I think it was 50, I have no idea really, they were running wild. At least 40. Age range from 2 to 9 (counting dumped kids only, I think there may have been some younger sibs who stayed with parents, iyswim).

And the fecking entertainer was an hour late! So the kids were really bloody difficult (in a repeatedly-getting-injured, although nobody seriously thank god) sort of way.

Bumping because i want more sympathy/derision/boggling.

50 kids? at home? um.

NotQuiteCockney · 28/09/2008 12:52

We have a decent amount of space. But it was still pretty busy.

can i just ask, how big is your mansion?

turquoise · 28/09/2008 12:58

You will be a legendary fun mum amongst all their friends forever, far more than those who spend fortunes on highly organized stuff. Running wild is rare, prized and memorable for kids these days!

pmsl!!!

Don't now about being a moron - I would say f*cking mad!!!! You certainly have more stamina than me!

Hope you feel better soon...

NotQuiteCockney · 28/09/2008 13:01

It's not that big, well, the bedrooms are tiny, but there are two big living rooms.

FairLadyRantALot · 28/09/2008 13:01

you are mad that is for sure, lol....

NotQuiteCockney · 28/09/2008 13:04

Yes, mad, evidently.

I've managed to eat a tiny bit of banana! Hurrah!

I want to go running today ... not sure that'll happen, though. I will leave the house to buy thank you cards, though.

Did they play sardines, all day?

NotQuiteCockney · 28/09/2008 13:06

(I was sick this morning, although not much. The scary thing is, I was so sure I was being sensible last night, as I didn't have any of the last bottle of wine. I guess it's good I did that, but good god what state would I be in if I had? )

I have two nights out this week (concert and drinks do for DH's work), and last night will ensure I am v v moderate at those, anyway!

OP posts:
NotQuiteCockney · 28/09/2008 13:07

No, they were on the bouncy castle, and running around, and then there was the entertainer, with snakes and rats and tarantulas.

OP posts:
FairLadyRantALot · 28/09/2008 13:09

wow, sounds like quite a party....

NotQuiteCockney · 28/09/2008 13:10

Well, it was a joint party for both boys ... I do it once a year ... ouch ouch ouch.

anorak · 28/09/2008 13:37

You're not a moron, NQC. After having 50 kids running around my house my reaction would most certainly be to flee the premises and drink heavily till 2.30am. It's the only way.

Janni · 28/09/2008 13:49

You are certifiable.

NotQuiteCockney · 28/09/2008 13:54

I ate some cheese! Woohoo! Nutrition is entering my body!

(I've also supervised the bi-weekly Battle of the English Homework, and assembled a Bionicle. Maybe I will go for a run ...)

OP posts:
NotQuiteCockney · 28/09/2008 14:14

You know, the drinking made some sense, but the karaoke (oh, and dancing, although it wasn't a dancing sort of place) was pretty thick.

(Oh, I should say, the place really wasn't terribly trashed, DH did a lot of hiding things, and we both did a lot of putting things away and/or throwing things out, so the house deffo looks better now than it did a week ago.)

BouncingTurtle · 28/09/2008 14:17

You deserve a medal.

And a week away (sans kids) in the Bahamas
