I recently changed bank accounts and changed my direct debit with Tiscali.
I then changed from Tiscali to BT.
Tiscali have sent me reminder letters saying that August money failed to be paid by DD.
Tiscali have now invoiced me for October - full amount even though left on 10 Sept.
I have rung them and said:

I have changed my dd details in advance of the bill and have been waiting for it to be collected.

They say as it is in arrears (ffs) they can't collect it by dd - or any future dd until it has been paid.

I said I am not paying for the whole of sept when they only provided service for 10 days.

They say I have to pay it then they will credit me back any adjustment in November FFS

I have asked for a final bill which can be paid in full now for august/ beginning of september including any adjustments.

They say can't do it

I rant at why not - they escalate it - to what I have no idea.

Am going to phone them again (3rd time) to confirm I want to pay NOW!
AIBU to want to pay the bill and close my account with them?
Not sure if just being pedantic - but just don't want to get to Nov and get no refund/adjustment and chase them for it iyswim!
