I'm not expecting a miracle... just some indication when things run out!

Why can't my DP just tell me when we run out of something?

I have been shopping 3 times this week and not once has he mentioned that he had used the last of the foil, clingfilm or olive oil!

I am now hoping my seabass being cooked in sea salt (without the olive oil) on a tin in the oven (not wrapped in foil) is going to be ok.

And you know what else? The empty box for the foil was in the damn drawer!!!!

Oh we are gonna have words when he gets home!

Oh, so mine is not the only one like that. I am supposed to know by instinct when he is almost out of shaving gel, and he is the only one who eats marmalade but never thinks to say we will soon need some more!

Empties in the fridge etc....I can remember my dad always in trouble for that one!!

Half a tea spoon of juice in a 1.5litre container is DHs favourite one!!

Sounds familiar here too. I cannot work out why you would use something up, then put the container back in the fridge/cupboard. Why? The daftest thing is, DP does this, then moans if I get in extra supplies of things (eg spares of toilet paper, sugar, cornflakes etc etc) - "Why do you need to get all that? Just get more when we've run out" he says helpfully. Arrrrghh!

thanks goodness it's not just me! i even left a pad and pen in the kitchen for him to write these things down!

i have a headache now so do i have a drink or do i take painkillers? hmmm

hubby is the same - drives me INSANE

puts empty orange juice/milk cartoons in fridge, or leave about a tablespoons worth of milk in it or even worse than that is using uomy red milk, he likes and has blue!!!

think it is men in general tbh

Empty loo roll tube left time and again, empty packets carefully replaced in cupboard, cheese eaten on macaroni days, last glass of wine even sometimes. But come on he's walking around in holey underwear and socks until the adult in the house takes action

Mine does the same - and even worse IMO he opens his drawer in the morning and says I haven't got any clean pants! Like it is some sort of wifely duty I am failing in...I don't mind doing most of the laundry but how hard would it be for him to say the day before, oh that's my last pair.

friend did washing and noticed she only hung up only one pair of hubby pants for the entire week, compare to her 6 knickers

Bogeek, we have exactly the same pants argument (and shirts) but I went so mad at him last time that he now tells me when he's running low!

I asked dh last night if there was any bread left for my packed lunch today and he said yes. I would have been able to get some last night but when I looked this morning there was a crust left

hmmm... sure I only hung one pair of his pants up this morning....

DP regularly forgets his work shirts so ends up washing and drying them late at night - drives me mad!

Haven't a clue what he's done with said cling film, foil and olive oil as we had plenty last weekend - he has cooked this week but nothing that should've used all that!

Don't be surprised when you go up to bed to find him lying there, greased up, wearing a cling film thong and tin-foil nipple shields

My DH took it upon himself to clear out our herb and spice cupboard recently. He got rid of everything that was over a certain age or looked dodgy.

The problem is he didn't keep any records of what he threw out, and somethings I only use once or twice a year so it is not immediately obvious. Now I go to a favourite recipe to find that I don't actually have the essential spice (and I only start looking once the process of cooking has started).

My DH made me a list of all my herbs and spices [smug] OK, I needed him out of the way whilst I cleaned out the cupboards , but it has actually been really handy. I refer to it when I'm making shopping lists or looking through my recipe books.

My DP did this I tried everything to get him to wise up! Had an ongoing list stuck to fridge with pen so he can jot down as he uses last of stuff.. asked him every day if we have run out of anything etc.

The only thing that worked was refusing to do the shopping & cooking (we have no DC tho). After a month of that (and 3 separate episodes of "where the hell are all the razors?" - the only essential item he needs that I coincidentally kept removing from the bathroom so he could see how it feels ) funnily enough he now seems able to remember to keep the list on the fridge up to date & I am quite prepared to shop and cook

He also used to do the pants and shirts trick so now once of his weekly tasks is all the laundry & he can iron his own blardy shirts.

Men eh, poor things!

sounds as if we are all married to the same bloke. Mine will do the grocery shopping (I spend too much for things we don't need, so he says) and every week it's the same. "Where is the grocery list?" and of course he gets one but then comes back with something other than the items on it. Usually some junkfood items and then complains because "Do you really need that cookie?" heh, but that's another argument isn't it?
navy is right, men...can't live with them, can't bury them under the roses without the neighbors complaining.

might not be able to teach him to not put empty things back in fridge but you can make him wear clean pants daily

Mine does the empty box back in the drawer/cupboard thing. I once thought we had loads of toothpaste because there were three boxes in the cupboard. All empty of course.

Poor lambs. They must open their drawer and think the pants fairy has forgotten all about them

mines insists on keeping lots of stupid left over foods . ensuring he will eat them. but he never does. the must stay there until they're really really mouldy before i can throw them out without being yelled at
