Ok so AIBU to be rather peeved at the people opposite (who have a drive, we do not) putting their bin outside our house to 'reserve' a spot?

No, YANBU - even worse are workmen who put cones out to reserve a spot for themselves the following morning!!!!!! It's not even legal.

I just move them and park there anyway.

the people opposite us have a drive and we do not also and every morning her mum comes to look after her son and parks in front of my house and leaves the drive clear

just don;t get why? plus she gave me a really dirty look the other day when i was unloading my shopping out of my taxi in front of my house as i had nicked her spot

YANBU, I'd just move it out of the way.

well now they've laid down pallets outside next door, so they are obviously expecting a large vehicle to come. I'm glad i'm going out otherwise it will block all my daylight. Only hope its gone this evening.

Unless they are expecting a large delivery or workmen (which they should have warned you about), then just move it.

Bins are not sacrosanct, and you can move your neighbours bin if they are in the wrong place (our neighbours often do this for one another as the bin men just seem to abandon them anywhere).

Don't sweat the small stuff.
