To feel like I need a makeover?

If anyone is going to reply by saying appearance doesn’t matter, please don’t, because it obviously isn’t the most important thing about any of us, but some of us do want to look good, and physical attraction does matter for relationships or dating.

Anyway… that of the way, I just feel as though I look homely and boring. I’m only 27. I’m very in shape, take care of my skin, and have been asked out by lots of men, but I don’t think that means a great deal.

I don’t have whitened teeth, fake tan, lash extensions, lip fillers or facial fillers like so so many women my age, and I just feel that I look not well groomed enough. I also don’t have breast implants which most women my age with smaller ones have nowadays. Basically I just feel like I don’t make an effort with my appearance and just leave myself ‘au naturel’, and I think in this day and age I look a mess as a result…

You need to stop comparing yourself to other women with work done, OP.

Also, I would say that it is a minority of women who get breast implants - definitely not everyone around this age! I’m in the same age bracket and I don’t know a single person with implants in my group of friends - a couple with lip filler maybe? Or maybe it’s a regional thing where you are.

What I will say is that having your hair done and eyebrows etc really does make a difference in how put together you look.

Perhaps try a haircut and a new colour! Maybe make a bit of an effort with style? I’m sure you look lovely, OP. Xx

@wifty I do dye my hair and only naturally have thin eyebrows, so I just pluck them myself! I think I feel unattractive because I don’t have all those artificial additions. x

Clothes make a massive difference. Much more than the other things you’ve described. Could you look into that area to give you a bit of a confidence boost? I’ve learnt not to save my best clothes for a special occasion I just wear them everyday and I can’t tell you how confident I’ve felt and the compliments I’ve received have been a nice bonus too!
