To feel disillusioned with lower-paid roles

I earn 31k a year, which I know is above min wage but it's not that good unless you're sharing living costs, and I'm contracted 42 hours.
I've never earned higher and unsure if I ever will, I'm a failed teacher.
Somehow passed the pgce but got managed out, and never returned, this was over a decade ago.
I've done supply, cover supervisor etc. But behaviour is atrocious, micromanagement, lack of support from parents etc. I don't have the personality to be a teacher and I'm not cut out for it.

I have a modern languages degree but it's been useless, I graduated almost 15 years ago and don't see many languages jobs about, especially with AI now.

See people with bonuses, company cars, all sorts of benefits. I get 0, I get the statutory minimum of everything, no other sort of benefit. My hours are good which is why I stay, I'm a supervisor for a company but I don't see myself earning more or moving up.

I have no idea what to do or how to earn more, I'm not asking for a 100k job or a luxury lifestyle, I just don't have a path and a lot of lower-paid jobs are fairly rubbish tbh. Anyone else had this and managed to progress?

I've considered applying to train as a Social worker but unsure if I'd be any good at it..
I've applied multiple times for SEND/EHCP caseworker but rejected multiple times so I gave up.

I understand you're feeling hopeless, that's really coming through in your post which is all about what you're bad at rather than good at.

Were there any aspects of teaching you did enjoy or felt good at?

For example if you liked teaching the kids the language, could you retrain as a speech therapist?

If you liked the children but not the academic side, would you be interested in early years eg working at a nursery? (Admittedly, low paid.)

If you liked the teaching but not the behaviour, you could consider working in a different setting eg small girls' private school, or evening languages school for adults, etc.

What sort of company do you work for at the moment, and which aspects of that are working well for you?

FWIW I am a teacher and I love it, bit I do understand it isn't for everyone.

What do you do that earns so low with such great qualifications? I earn £40k doing a desk job for the local Council. Is something like that something you would consider?
