Two-tier policing alert for muslim preachers.

More evidence of two-tier policing. No evidence that any criminal investigation has began over hate preachers advocating violence against women.

"..a hitting that does not bruise and does not break bones"
"..permitted to discipline their wives in case of rebellion"

3 imams inciting violence against women for not agreeing to be raped.

By the authority of Islam men can beat and rape their wives and justify it by scripture.

Too late to stop institutional attitudes that led to Rotherham etc tragedies.
Police etc just don't want to know.

Agree, it’s outrageous that this isn’t robustly addressed

Yeah apologies. Wasn't concentrating. I did mean to put it in Chat
Not unreasonable to think this needs much more investigation into what’s going on.

I’ve seen countless videos of such preachers in mosques advocating for violence. And there is a growing gap between when people can get called in for a 'voluntary' interview/arrested for praying silently outside an abortion clinic for example or reposting a disagreement with current immigration policy.

I’m always curious about the voting preference of OPs who start threads like this. But I guess that is just me being nosy!

I'm lifelong Labour (though their alliance with trans-identifying men over girls' and women's rights have made that difficult in recent years).

I'm very concerned that the police continue to apparently run scared of dealing with these Muslim male abusers.

DottysCollywobbles · 15/10/2026 11:57

@SeeingDrn - do you believe that what happens in the mosque stays in the mosque? That it’s no one’s business what is preached?

Classical scholars and companions of the Prophet (such as Ibn Abbas) clarified that if the final step mentioned in Surah An-Nisa (4:34) is reached, it must be entirely non-injurious, cause no pain, and leave no mark. It was described symbolically as tap with a siwak (a small tooth-cleaning twig) or a folded handkerchief, meant purely to convey a psychological boundary, never to cause physical pain, injury, or humiliation.

RaggedRocks · 15/10/2026 12:02

Above is what google has unearthed.

Whatifitallgoesright · 15/10/2026 12:45

And another Surah will say another thing. "You've interpreted it wrong. WE don't follow that path." (Stares fixedly in the other direction)

Well, you “wondered” about the political leanings of the OP, as if that has any bearing on objecting to wife-beating.

Yes, yes, white men beat their wives. But I’d be very surprised if any CofE vicars were commending this in their Sunday sermons.

Most strange

Quine0nline · 15/10/2026 13:49

Well it's a defence for anti migrants protesters whom we are aware have convictions for domestic violence as they wear their niquabs in court for DV charges.

"Only doing wot the prophet said, your honour".

Whether it hurts or not, it's still confirming that women are subservient to men and mustn't displease them.

Plenty of quotes in the bible about women being submissive to their husbands too,

That is exponentially different to the current situation where there are imams active in mosques preaching this stuff (and worse) to their followers, a government desperate not to criticise that behaviour at all and a police force keen to turn a blind eye and silence dissent.

We are totally free to criticise the Christian church and any of their beliefs or practices. We are currently not totally free to criticise Islam and any Muslim beliefs and practices. I await the investigation into the NHS doctor who thinks it’s is totally correct for a man to be executed for criticising Islam. To think that a doctor feels empowered to express such terrible views is chilling.

I wonder how she feels about her gay patients and if she ever acts on her obvious conflict of beliefs.

As a Christian I have had the unfortunate experience to attend churches (by accident) that preach against LGBT rights, women’s rights, abortion, divorce etc. I got out quick but they do exist.

5128gap · 15/10/2026 18:11

This case is currently under active assessment by West Midlands police. This is the usual first step prior to commencing an investigation.
The charity commission are also assessing the content of the videos under their regulatory powers.
The Muslim community have condemned the Imams in question and reiterated that domestic violence is strictly prohibited and that the Imams misinterpreted the verses.
I think its either ignorant or disingenuous to start a thread complaining that nothing is being done. When it is, as it should be.
Perhaps we should wait and see the outcome before we stir the pot.

Yes, I've been in these type of churches too
