Gastritis/pangastritis and malabsorption of iron/vitamins.

I saw a thread the last couple of days that asked about iron transfusions on the nhs (this isn’t a taat, but even if it was it’s very benign!). One poster replied and mentioned something about having gastritis and problems with malabsorption.
I had a colonoscopy and endoscopy almost a year ago. There were various diagnoses including gastritis and pangastritis but I never had a follow up appointment.
Ive had many times where I’ve had to have b12 injections and folate prescriptions. I also have borderline anemia and was recently refused an iron transfusion by the hospital after a referral from my gp. The problem is that I cannot tolerate any kind of iron supplements - I tired three different ones prescribed by my gp and also tried otc ones. I couldn’t tolerate any of them (not even if I just took them every other day/once or a few times per week). Now I saw this comment from a poster and did some research about gastritis and malabsorption because I had no idea they were linked at all! I’m due some more blood tests for something else this week and a couple of weeks ago I messaged my gp asking them to add in the bloods for ferritin etc. So I will have these soon and the results will usually be in my app by the next day or the day after. What I’m wondering is even if my results come back borderline/low and not below “notmal”, would I be able to still request that my gp makes another referral stating about the diagnosed gastritis/pangastritis and that would make a difference to the response/acceptance? Has anyone been in this position and if so what was the result?
I really don’t have c£1k to have this done privately, but it is affecting me so badly. Some days I can’t even manage to get out of bed it’s so bad. I have other health issues that may also affect this, but never knew about the link between this and iron absorption before and tbh I’ve been desperate for almost two years!
Thank you if you think you can help me with any information at all.
(apologies for posting on aibu but I have my blood tests in only two days and would like some advice soon please, so that I know how to then approach my gp after my results come back)
