Sad manager didn’t have my back.

I asked her recommendation on what document to use for a project, I also asked someone else relevant. Both said Document A.

The team and external client it was used for kicked off, they got someone higher up involved demanding to use Document B, who ripped me to pieces in an email. I drafted a response and sought managers approval before sending. She told me no, she will deal with it.

The next day she forwards me an email saying for clarification this is what I’m sending. I read the chain, someone had kicked off about me not responding and not once did my manager say the reason I hadn’t responded.

I could then see they’d also all had a call to discuss it and purposely left me out. My manager even involved the new person in our team in the call - they are more senior to me but it still stung they are on a call essentially discussing me and criticising my work.

And then to top it off the managers email she wanted me to have clarification on was that she’d recommended they use Document B.

It’s such a toxic place.
