Induction tonight - what to expext

Going in for an induction using Dilapan rods this evening. Would be grateful for peoples' experiences and what to expect.

Sorry I dont have any experience of this, but I hope all goes well and that you get to meet your new baby soon!

Take things to occupy yourself as you might have a lot of waiting around! Books, puzzles, an ipad etc with music and films - and chargers! Snacks. Earplugs/eyemask. Fluffy socks.

In my trust we put 4-5 Dilapan rods in and it can be uncomfortable but once in, shouldn’t cause any uterine activity. We then check 18 hours later that we can break your waters but sooner if the Dilapan falls out or your waters break.

It can be a long process so id recommend trying to get some sleep tonight.
