This is quite a trivial one but it's bugging me!
There's a man I worked with at a previous employer. We only actually worked vaguely together for a few months before I left and we briefly spoke a couple of times after that as we are in similar roles, but we've not spoken for over 3 years. We were acquaintances, not friends. He was made redundant and out of a role for ages so when I spotted on LinkedIn that he had a new job finally I "liked" his post. He then messages me and literally all it says is "who is this corporate imposter in your profile picture!?!? 😛"
The profile picture is a headshot my current employer did. It's been my LinkedIn profile photo for maybe a year or more. I really like it, and I never say that about photos. I'm wearing a simple blazer and t-shirt and just a fairly standard level of makeup, so I just look smart really.
Is that an odd message to send, given the context? I have no idea what to respond with. Is he saying I wasn't professional when he knew me? It was a more casual workplace but he knows I work in the city in a more formal environment now....
Like I say, it's a trivial one, but it's nagging me a bit!
