AIBU to be annoyed by constant negative commentary while watching television?

Any time we watch a TV show, DS14 and DH absolutely lay into everyone and everything picking it all apart.

"Ughhh I hate her" "he's fucking awful" "if she touched me I'd need to jump straight in the shower, her fake tan would leech onto me" "what is this shit?" " Clearly no actual danger because they are famous" "why is she in every at the moment" "terrible acting" "why does he talk like that?" "If this is entertainment then clearly the education system has failed" "clearly AI".

They put huge amounts of energy into hating actors for no reason that I can tell, Zendaya, Bella Ramsey and others they act like they can't even bear to watch.

DS isn't like this when DH isn't there, he clearly gets a kick out of making his dad laugh at this stuff. But I'm at a point where I don't want to watch anything with them because they completely ruin it for me. I just want to relax sometimes and switch off!

YANBU, I’d have to leave the room & do something else. And tell them why.

Can’t you say something passive aggressive like ‘you two are always trying to outdo each other playing the joker, it’s not a competition you know’ and see if it embarrasses them.

If it doesn’t, them just tell them straight that they sound like a pair of dicks. Usually when people feel the need to criticise people constantly then they feel they are ‘lacking’ in some way. You could tell them
that too.

I knew before I clicked on this thread, (from the title,) that this was going to be about a man banging on and chatting shit, and talking over what someone's trying to watch! 😂

Oh and YANBU @AnonMama87 Apart from telling him to shut the fuck up, there's little else you can do. I just zone out when DH does this - he doesn't do it all the time - but when he does I ignore him. After 30+ years together you learn to manage shit like this. Men can be such annoying twats sometimes LOL.

To be fair, I can't stand to watch Zendaya or Bella Ramsey either. I suspect most blokes would feel like that x1000. Maybe stick on a war film.
