Please bear with me dont want to be 2 outing. I have worked at my current job 6 years. Was on a secondment to another role for last 18 months.no funding to continue Before my secondment I did 50% one role and 50% another. There are a number of courses that aid in this role. There's a 5 day course id love to do its expensive everyone gets to put their name down and they pick a random person, i put my name down every year but dont get picked. I have done 2 different 1 day courses also relevant to the role.
They have now decided they want to offer the role full time on a 12month secondment. I have an interview next week.
The person spec said someone who has done the 5 day training or equivalent.
As part of the 5 day course you need to have 3 supervision sessions a year to keep the accreditation. You can also attend the supervision if you do the 1 day course. You get a certificate every 12 months to say you have attended supervision.
An other applicant has done the 5 and 1 day course but didn't attend supervision the 1st year so is no longer has the accreditation for the 5 day course, but she has the same certificate for the 1 day course.
Our line manager is new and doesnt know she is longer has the accreditation.
I think she has applied saying she has done the course and not mentioned she didnt attend the supervision.
On paper I'm the stronger candidate but im worried she is going to say she has the training (which she does but it can not be recorded that she has used it in her work!)
Im unsure if I should tell HR or our line manager before the interviews he's off next week and the interviews are Tuesday.
Do I keep quiet and hope for the best or mention it and look like I'm telling tales?
The job is as the assistant to someone she knows about this and has told me to try and drop it in in the interview.

don't bring down the other applicant

I don’t think it would put you in good light trying to ‘advise’ them of your competitors short comings. Just go to the interview and get the job on your own merit.

Just focus on what you can bring to the role.

You could always mention you have always applied to do the 5 day course and not been fortunate enough to get a place yet, but if you did then you'd also make sure you kept up with the additional training days to remain accredited which is important.

It just looks like you’re trying g to pull someone else down because you think you might know something.

Don’t be vindictive. It won’t paint you in a good light at all - even if you’re right

Agree not to mention anything about the other applicant. Focus on making yourself look good. It’s only five days of training, for the right person in a permanent full time role, you’d think they’d be willing to put you forward to do that while in the role. I’d say that you’ve long been keen to do the training and would be very willing to undertake it while in the role if it was made available to you. Then just focus on all your other strengths.
