To ask what to wear to DP’s ex’s wedding?

Posted in style and beauty but no traffic.

DP’s ex is getting married soon, it’s amicable and I’m very happy for them. They’ve kindly invited us to attend for the evening before leaving with DSD.

As we’re only attending for a couple of hours I’d rather not look too overdressed but would still like to make an effort.
I’m mid 20s, size 8. I suit shades of green& blue. Would like to avoid anything low cut or short. I have a couple of black jersey style dresses but not sure if black is wedding appropriate?
Thanks

I would not wear black to a wedding. Why not treat yourself to something colourful with long sleeves so you can wear again at Xmas. Burgundy and aubergine seems to be popular this autumn.

I would collect DSF and leave, what other roll do ye have? Think it’s strange ye would stay even if things are amicable.

Thanks @caringcareri was avoiding black and red. I’ve gone with a navy maxi since I posted. X wondering if it’s too low cut though

Originally she asked we collect the DSC but we’re now staying for a bit of the evening at least. I’m glad as I like DP’s ex, we get on very well. We text semi regularly and we socialise without DP too.

I and Mrs (me) split up 15yo. We are still extremely friendly - and regularly meet with new partners etc. She still uses our holiday homes abroad and has stayed with my parents abroad on numerous occasions. It has shown our boys that just because we couldn’t live together it doesn’t need to be a warzone! We have had odd comments along the way from 3rd parties but essentially we are still family.

It great but I think it would only work if financial split was fair and not on half trying to grab everything.

Why? People can be friends even though you are exes you know. My ex did the DJing at my wedding
