To send DS to nursery or not? Scarlet fever case.

DS (17 months) is supposed to be having his settling in session at nursery tomorrow. Nursery have just notified of a suspected case of scarlet fever in his room. DS has just got over a bad viral infection, and then hand foot and mouth a week later. He's still got some stubborn blisters from HFM. Am I being unreasonable to ask to move his settling in to next week? I suppose I'm worried about an outbreak and I don't need to send him as my mum will have him until he's settled in. I also think his immune system has taken a beating over the last 3 weeks!

I know there's constant illnesses at nursery, but if I don't need to send him in, then it's not worth the risk? Or am I being over dramatic and if I took this stance he will never end up going!

Ohh. I would go ahead with it.

Nursery is riddled with lurgies.

Someone once told me and I held to it .. drop, turn around and go ....

Good luck

Scarlet fever has to be treated by antibiotics and if not treated quickly or completely can cause damage to the heart muscle. I wouldn't risk it if you can avoid it, although I sent them to nursery through many other illnesses in the rooms.
