Parole board and a monstrous rapist

This fine fellow is being moved to an open prison. He dragged girls off the street to rape them, fgs! By the grace of god he wasn’t totally freed, but he will still be able to come and go. It is claimed he has “anxiety” in prison. Well boo bloody hoo.

Prisons may be overcrowded, but I think I’d find a little spare cell for someone like this. Clearly the powers that be consider his record to be a minor issue compared with his own wellbeing.

Just another fine example of how they are more concerned about the perpetrator than the victim. And I suspect it is only going to get worse.

DottysCollywobbles · 01/10/2026 17:05

I must admit I just can’t compute. How could he even be considered for release?

Bad basta*d!! He could be following our children down the street/ through the park etc.etc. This country is gone to hell, victims have no rights anymore.

ladypenelopepitstop · 01/10/2026 23:34

Roll on a General Election then we can vote this stupid government out !

DottysCollywobbles · 02/10/2026 07:42

I don’t think it’s the Govt (although they don’t help) but prison social workers/psychiatrists and then parole boards all working to facilitate the rights and desires of in some cases very unpleasant criminals. Not to mention lawyers with a cause . Public safety seems to come as an irritating afterthought.

It's not definite yet, the secretary of state for justice still has to decide whether they agree to it or not, hopefully they will see sense and realise it would be a terrible decision. Is there any way people can appeal it? I know the public can submit appeals against lenient sentences, not sure if there is something similar in situations like this

MyKindHiker · 02/10/2026 07:49

Despite being very pro human rights in general, I think there's a massive case for castration of serious sex offenders like this. By all means stick him in an open prison... but he needs to be castrated first.

We'd see numbers of rapes come right down.

I fucking hate how this country bends over backwards for rapists, whilst pretending to care about violence against women and girls, its beyond sickening

Hang on a second. Not all professionals contributing to parole hearings support release. They often say no but can get over-ruled.

Lexibletheflexible · 02/10/2026 08:14

They need to give rapists and many other violent offenders a life sentence.

DottysCollywobbles · 02/10/2026 08:15

Just who was in favour of releasing him? I can understand if it were a frail man seeing out his days, but a young and fit violent rapist?

I’m not sure about that, as the “might as well be hung for a sheep as a lamb” comes in, and killing a victim to avoid a life sentence. But definitely no early release or open prisons.

You can't keep someone past their sentencing and indefinite sentences arent given any more.

Lets say someone has absolutely no remorse for an awful crime they committed and they've now served their ten year sentence. They can say that they will do it again or the person deserved it and still be released because you cant give someone 15 years when they only were sentenced to 10. You have 10 years to try and rehabilitate them and that's it. Then they are allowed to be released.

A life sentence would mean they couldn't be released without showing some form of rehabilitation.

Especially when the victims are women and girls....all this talk and hand wringing about VAW, they don't really give a shit do they?

Dollymylove · 02/10/2026 08:29

Yup. These are the people being allowed out on the streets while someone who threw an empty plastic bottle at the police is jailed for 2 years.
I firmly believe that widespread civil unrest is on the cards. Ordinary working people have had a gut full of all this and they cant imprison everyone who objects (as much as they would probably like to)

JHound · 02/10/2026 09:53

Why do they always put the rights of male criminals above their female victims?

DottysCollywobbles · 02/10/2026 10:49

Of what relevance is his “anxiety”? Why is this a factor?

You would rather people like this were released straight back out into the community without being 'tested' in open conditions?

this is what i was thinking! theyve lost sight of the fact that prison is partly a punishment. it’s ok if prison makes him anxious!! it’s supposed to!

not to mention how much anxiety his victims must have had to deal with.
