To invite my son’s gf on holiday?

My DS is 15, he’s a lovely boy but is having some bullying issues at school. This has been really difficult lately. He has a gf and spends most of his time with her out of school, he’s just got himself a job and is generally a sensible kind lad. My quandary is around a week at October half term where I plan to book a cottage in Cornwall for the week. I very much doubt he will be excited about coming and I did want him to have a nice time. His gf is 16 in a few weeks, he is 16 in November. I haven’t mentioned anything to him yet but I was wondering whether to get a bigger place and invite his gf, obviously with the consent of her parents. They’d have separate rooms etc but I thought he might have a better time, but then also I don’t want to throw them together and put him a position where they are having a more serious relationship when they’re basically kids. Any thought?

Honestly, I wouldn't. I'd ask him if he wanted to come on holiday but I wouldn't have two teenagers in a relationship on holiday with me.

Surely inviting his gf on holiday is just like allowing him to bring a friend. I think it's a nice thing to do especially if he's being bullied at school. I might phase it as would you like to invite a friend on holiday with you? I asked foster son if he'd like to invite a friend on holiday with us as we have a holiday home in France. First year he invited a friend, second year his gf. There were no problems whatsoever and he and gf included other foster son in most activities they did too without being asked. His gf loved it because I put her in the princess room with a four poster bed and voile hangings.

They aren't going to be sticking to their separate rooms.

Sorry to disagree but we did just this when our DS was 16 and GF was 15. Her parents were very happy for her to go with us and, to be honest, she had a ball doing things she had never been allowed to do - hiking on Dartmoor for one. DS was very happy to have her with us and it all worked out brilliantly. He went to France with her family the following year.

We did this with ours. They didn't stick together with partners but they probably enjoyed the hols a little bit more than if we hadn't invited them. ask him what he thinks

I wouldn’t assume they’d be sleeping together. But if you’re too worried, ask another friend of his instead. I’m sure he’d love it either way!
