Staff at the pub tonight where they are serving food.
Somebody comes in with a couple of dogs, one is a cute puppy.
Two staff members stroking the puppy, but didn't was their hands afterwards.
Isn't it awful.
Basic health and hygiene.

YANBU. I've worked in pubs and I love dogs but when serving food I used to smile at them and comment on their cuteness but resist the impulse to stroke them. And I'd prefer that food-service staff do the same when I'm the customer.

How do you know they didn't wash their hands in the kitchen where you couldn't see them? I wouldn't expect someone pulling pints to wash their hands.

But if they've gone to pick up food plates, then yes I would.

YANBU. One of many reasons why dogs should not be in restaurants, pubs etc.

They shouldn't touch them should they?

This happened at a pub we ate in. It was a few years ago. I put a review about it on tripadvisor and the manager replied saying he was ashamed and would make sure it didn’t happen again.

That's one reason we no longer go to food places which allow dogs (sadly a majority now).

Yes that would be nice. However every pub I’ve ever worked at the cooks are on cocaine and the servers are all hungover and the shelves behind the bar are covered in dust, dirt and sometimes ants.

They’re unfortunately not usually paragons of cleanliness

Why is pulling pints with dirty hands OK? You're going to touch the glass then and actually drink from it.....yuck!

The latest "Down with Dogs" post.

When will the select few people on these threads realise that the majority of people are fine with dogs. Businesses make more money out of people with dogs then they do from people who don't.

If you want to try and run a dog free establishment, go for it. The evidence suggests it won't stay in business long.

They shouldn’t be touching the dogs anyway knowing they’re going to be handling food, it’s careless they didn’t think to wash their hands. Did you tell or ask them to go wash their hands?

What if the pint you’ve just pulled (after stroking dogs) is for someone who has just ordered a burger?
