Except he doesn't - because he isn't - because he's had surgery precisely NOT to look his age. Ageing gracefully is much more attractive.

It’s a cheesy pose but honestly I think he looks great for his age. I love to see older men with visible wrinkles - no Botox - and a bit of a dad bod.

I would say that it's one thing to not find something attractive yourself. We all like different things.

But I think it's something else to say that a person is too old to express their sexuality or to feel sexy. I would say that's ageist.

For example, Madonna is another one who I think has absolutely ruined herself with plastic surgery. But I really despise all of the criticism along the lines of "ew, put it away Madge, you're older than my mum/nan" etc etc. If she still wants to wear a tiny leotard, that's up to her.

At what age do people have to stop the sexy poses? 40? 50? 60?

I don't understand why this has to be the sole province of the young. This is what I meant earlier when I was saying that we seem to be at the point where only the youthful people can be found attractive, hence the desperate chasing of youth with plastic surgery.

In the cover where he's wearing the vest, @Candleabra has nailed it - he does look like Zoolander 😂 I think it's his expression. It's odd.

But if you look at his lips and the weird pout, he actually looks a bit like Donald Trump too 🫣

Spider - I can’t argue with that. I have always found him a bit eww even in his heyday. But you’re right I shouldn’t be ageist about the older body! You are right.

He looks good for his age but you'd expect that with all the work he's had done. But sexy? Not in a million years, even without the bonkers Scientology thing.

Actually I think facially he looks better than he did a few years ago when he looked really puffy. I think he must have had filler dissolved or something. Matthew Rhys is another one with the dyed hair - he has dark hair and a completely grey beard. It just looks strange!

I agree - I still think he looks remarkably plastic but nowhere near as odd as he did a couple of years ago! He still has that strange puffiness but to a much lesser degree - I'm guessing that he's either still got some tweakments going on, or else he's had actual surgery? He almost has that florid, swollen look that people get after years of alcohol abuse (not suggesting he's an alcoholic, just that the work he's had done make it look like that!)

His hair looks even worse up close - it's just not a good look all round. He's never been my type but I bet he would have aged to become quite the fox if he'd left well alone.

Actually, looking at the latest photo, the hair colour reminds me of the odious Rudy Giuliani when he was caught with the hair dye dripping down his face when he was sweating!

Yeah, post face lift puffiness was the issue.
Short hair, ie original Top Gun haircut, suits him best, imo, and I'm not down for the arm up pose. Looks super cheesy and he looks uncomfortable.

I don't know why he's making that face. Is a manic, hyper-caffeinated scowl particularly attractive to the fashionable 'bachelor'?

Or, considering his acting skills, perhaps the photographer said 'Give me fierce'.

I actually like his films. He does GREAT action, has a good side-eye and isn't bad at 'thinking intensely'. I got terribly excited when, in a recent watch, he looked genuinely angry when he was supposed to be. It was so surprising, I looked for the set gossip. Apparently he hated his co-stars: it must have helped!

Your description of the puffiness is bang on, @SpidersAreShitheads. He's teetotal, I think. What a waste, he could've enjoyed a lot of martinis for the same effect and price!

That's very unfair. It was a different time in NZ and not at all unusual to do this. It would have been unusual for him to take on a child especially at that stage of his career. His family would not have supported him doing it either.

he doesn’t look great. The hair looks burgundy to me. Dark with burgundy top notes😂 aging does weird things to people’s eyes and noses…he looks like a regular guy to me not particularly handsome not particularly unattractive simply any older guy.

for this reason I think the poses are not good. I could say ridiculous but not good. Much better with less “sex appeal” and more class and elegance.
