Hate having big feet

Anyone else? I have size 8 feet and I really hate it! They are huge and sometimes I have to get a 9 if the shoes are tight, I’ve always hated having such big feet as a woman, im not tall either so it’s not even in proportion, even my daughter has got my big feet as shes 9 with size 5 woman’s feet, I dread to think what size she will end up as, gone are all the pretty young girls shoes as most dont go up as big so shes 9 having to wear adult shoes, finding nice school shoes is hard. AIBU to hate having big feet!

I am a size 8 with very very wide feet. Sadly my daughter also got the long wide flippers and is a size 13 at 5 years old

I was the same as your daughter and it's the worst part of shopping for me.
I live in Doc Martens boots in the winter and sandals in the summer from Yours and Simply Be, or sometimes
Crocs sliders if they have adjustable straps.
Thankfully my girls stopped at a 6 but they have wide feet too.

Agree. size 8 during the late 80s was a nightmare. No issues getting lovely shoes and boots nowadays. It's actually amazing how many women's ranges go up to a size 11!

I am a size 9 with narrow feet. Why are most size 9 shoes are a EEE fitting? I can get a hand in them as well.

I have size eight feet, years ago it was a nightmare finding shoes but luckily not nowadays. Several of my friends have size eight feet and they aren’t as tall as me.

10.5 and wide here. Size 8 would be a dream come true for me.

I am the opposite. 5’9 with size 3.5 feet. Or ‘stumps’ as my husband calls them 😂

Tbf, no-one actually notices apart from staff in shoe shops who think they’ve misheard me. I tend to buy online.

For your daughter, Next do quite a lot of school shoes in size 5, and some in 6 and 7, so you get the little bows and other details that make it look like a child's shoe. They're not too pricey either.

Yes it might sound OTT and expensive but you can actually have an operation where they remove your big toes, put a little toe where the big used to be and blend in the missing one. Cost private is circa £17000 but you will decrease by 2 to 3 shoe sizes (UK). Your top speed (if you run) will decrease by approximately 2 miles per hour

Thanks, those are the types im talking about with nice little details on, we tried a few shoe shops but her feet were too wide or they didn’t go up to her size

😂 Yes, get your feet reduced OP. For a measly 17k and minor mutilation, it’s surely worth it.

But at 9 which could be year 4 some girls are wearing those T bar shoes/Mary Janes with the younger styles still. I had to wear those at may primary school until I was 11 but I don't think children at that age would tolerate that now.

not, at least if I was tall it would make sense having such big feet. When friends have found out they’ve all been shocked what size I am as they all have nice small sizes not big flippers

Only if your fitting is narrow. Size 8 WIDE fit are a nightmare 😩

I wear a men’s size 11. It ruins all outfits as obviously no feminine choices. I’m also exceptionally tall though so that’s probably more noticeable than my feet. It was definitely something I was very self conscious of as a child, but not something I think that much about now.

Yes this is me. I buy early in the season. I now know what brands shoes fit me and what just don’t work.

This! I’m 5’6 and my feet are a size 4! I fall over all the time! (Tbf I do have RA but my stupid small feet and tiny stubby toes don’t help)

I can understand being annoyed by the practical side but it sounds like you have a really unhealthy obsession with it, and how it somehow makes you not “feminine” enough. You’re going to give your daughter a complex for no good reason, and I don’t understand why you think that’s ok, and it’s just normal to hate parts of your own body. It’s not.

Not liking things about yourself isn’t an inevitability. You can’t change the size of your feet but you can change how you talk about them when it’s looking likely your daughter will have the same.

My mother had size 11 feet. It was a nightmare for her to find shoes in the 60s and 70s. She had to go to a shop in London. She wasn't a trainers kind of lady.

10.5 very narrow AA width. Yep, big fat pain. I am also slender build...and 6ft 3 and yep a real female.

I have coped with downsizing my expectations to very little choice 🤣

Of course it is thats why so many women get surgery and breast enlargements etc, I don’t talk to my daughter about it 😅 and I use to be made fun of for my big feet and hands so maybe that’s where it stems from
