To turn my heating on?

It's a bit chilly here. 15 degrees in the east of england - expected to get to 12 overnight. AIBU to turn my heating on or is it way too early in the year?

I'm in the NE and it's getting down to 7 tonight, I haven't felt cold enough for the heating yet but I never hesitate to turn it on when I do feel cold.

After a lot of deliberating I put mine on for an hour this evening.
I wouldn't usually put it on this soon, but I think we've become acclimatised to the hot weather over the summer, and are therefore really feeling the temperature change.

We never turn ours off - it's just controlled by the thermostat settings. If it gets below 16 degrees it goes on whether it;s July or December.

YABU, this is Mumsnet, you use the heating according to the calendar, NOT, the temperature.

I brought my heated husky throw back into service today.

I've got my heated blanket on at the minute, but don't really like leaving it on overnight in case of fire

Gas / electric company have just announced increases here, so no heating until Xmas!

Good grief, I'm still sleeping with my fan on. Maybe perimenopause will finally yield some benefit in the form of a reduced heating bill! I'm in T shirt sleeves now and nowhere near cold enough to be thinking about heating.

We are in a cottage so it’s been on for about or so the last few days, else we end up being all damp smelling l, the house needs a bit of a warm up.

9 degrees outside, but my flat is always roasting and I reckon it's at least 16-17 degrees in here regardless. Currently sat in a teeshirt next to an open window and perfectly comfortable. Heating is never usually needed in here until late October/November at the earliest, and off again in March. It's a ridiculously naturally warm building.

I wear at least 4 before I put the heating on for an hour when it's minus 12 etc etc.

I still have my fan on too, not facing me though. I've gotten too used to the white noise on at night!

I'm no help to you as I never turn heating on at night even in the middle of winter. Can't sleep when it's warm.

Rural Scotland here. It’s been on most days for the last week or so.

I’m in NE, this morning I commented to my husband it might be time to switch to our winter duvet as we were both cold under our 2.5 tog last night. Briefly thought about switching the heating on at 3am this morning but put on woolly bed socks.
