Theyve got foldable iPhones now, the iphone Duo - it uses the apple pen as well

Theyve got the iphone 18 pro which comes in different colours - theyve got pop start Rosé photoshopped with a burgundy one 😩 for some reason

New Apple watches that record conversation so that you can rewind 15seconds and see what was just said

Are you arsed? Will you buy the latest models?

I bought the orange iphone last year and returned it, and went straight back to Samsung, far superior imo!

I think I'd need a camel to trail behind me carrying some of those cement block phones now. Any chance of a cute, small, lightweight one?

Maybe the foldies fit the bill, but I reckon they cost as much as a car now.

The one I have will do until it dies on me. Same as all the previous ones. I am seriously NOT up to date with my phone, but it works, does everything I need and that'll do.

I have a watch but rarely use it now. I have cardiac arrythmia and it was too anxiety inducing looking at the heart rate, so I stopped wearing it all the time and am all the better for that. I could turn that feature off I suppose, but am too lazy.

As soon as I read ‘prices from £2000’ I lost interest.

daisyydaisyy · 09/09/2026 20:40

I think that Duo looks absolutely fantastic. I’m really impressed with it. But there’s nothing wrong with my 16 plus and I can’t upgrade til next year, so I won’t get it brand new and not interested in getting it brand new. I will be getting it eventually though. I can get rid of my iPad and have two in one.

whatthesigma · 09/09/2026 20:41

Misread - $2000. But nearly £1500 so my point remains 😂

Its just too expensive isnt it?! And the phone contracts now are 3 or 4 years long, and still over £50pm, its just non justifiable!

It looks cool but how would you get a case on it, i cant really tell

Its always a good idea to wait for the phones to be used for a while first, I remember the iphone 6 bent when it first came out 😬

I think the foldies are for that purpose but the hefty price tag, omg

Theres just no need for a brand new one every year anymore is there

Sorry to hear about the arrythmia x

It says it’s a two-part case, I reckon it’ll work like the Samsung fold cases. I’ll definitely be waiting! Someone on Reddit mentioned just getting a refurbished one and I thought that was a grand idea

SulkingInTheCatio · 09/09/2026 21:01

These are just the pro models aren’t they? So they will be more expensive. Think the standard 18 will be announced at a later date and should be a better price. But I agree there’s no need for a new one every year. Mine is a 16 and I must have had it two years as Sky have emailed me saying I can have a new model of if I want one. Which obviously would be a new contract. As long as the battery is ok I will keep this one.

purungpurung · 09/09/2026 21:04

I love Apple products, but the cost is prohibitive. I just can’t justify spending that kind of money. I’ll be keeping my current - refurbished - phone till it dies and then getting a replacement - refurbished - phone as and when.

Do you know, i forgot about the Samsung fold, had to Google it 😅

They had a fold one ages ago and then withdrew it due to problems before releasing the current ones iirc

Definitely good to wait a little before buying, but it does look cool

Yesh I think they do release cheaper models tbf - i got mine directly from Samsung and then got a sim only

I have a perfectly adequate older phone and a £12 contract with unlimited data and minutes. By the time my phone kicks the bucket, we'll probably be on iPhone 50. Until then, I am not really even remotely aware of what's out there let alone have any intention of buying anything.

IHopeYouStepOnALegPiece · 09/09/2026 21:12

Literally yesterday I said to a random guy on the plane next to me (we were stuck on the tarmac for 3h and ran out of things to talk about clearly 😂) that apple wouldn't ever do a fold up model. Well I look like a fool 😂

I'll never buy a Pro because I don't use my phone in a way that it would be worth the money but I don't generally have a problem buying Apple products, I think they're worth the money tbh...except the AirPods, I'm yet to try some that don't suck

Cantstopeatingjaffacakes · 09/09/2026 21:20

I love Apple products and you will have to prise my iPhone out of my pocket when I die. I do like the look of the foldable ones and will more than likely get one when the contract on my current phone runs out if the prices come down a bit by then.

Flannelfeet · 09/09/2026 21:32

I thought this was going to be an apple throwing contest 🤣. I m gutted, I know plenty folk id love to throw apples at 🤭🤭

Not sure I like the idea of a foldable phone - won’t crumbs etc get stuck in the fold? Also, I heard somewhere they are touch ID only which doesn’t work for me. The 16 is the first time I’ve had face ID, I couldn’t go back to touch. I could be wrong though. It’s a while until I replace the 16 as the battery is still good, that’s always the limiting factor for me. Usually the battery gets unreliable after 4 years approx.

Londonrach1 · 09/09/2026 21:33

Nope. Never understood apple and yet to buy any apple anything. Happy with my 8 year android phone. Happy with my £6 monthly rolling contact of unlimited text and data. Only have to give a month notice. Sim free

TallSturdyGirls · 09/09/2026 21:37

I had a top notch apple phone about 2 years ago through work. Moved jobs, bought a secondhand phone from Samsung. Literally no difference in usability or functionality.

UniquePinkSwan · 09/09/2026 21:37

Pre ordered the watch in dark bronze. The features are great. I’ll get the foldable phone next year as I have a 17 pro max just now that does the job.

MidnightMeltdown · 10/09/2026 16:16

I will probably get the iPhone duo as I travel a lot and it will save me carrying an iPad. I’m due an upgrade and was going to get an iPhone Air, but I think this is better.

Not interested in Apple watches as they’re too chunky. I think they only work on people with large wrists. I wish they’d do a slimmer female friendly version.

AnnoyedAsAllHeck · 10/09/2026 20:05

I am old enough to remember when "car phones" were a thing and when you needed a bag to carry the first portable phones.

Then they got smaller and smaller and fit easily into pockets and purses. I loved them! Flip phones were my favorite of them all.

It seems that little by little we are going back to the "I need a bag to carry my phone", not because of the weight but because they are getting bigger and bigger.

Yes--I am just joking around so please save your snark for the park please!
